Thank you for attending the American Public Human Services Association (APHSA) & Third Sector fall 2020 webinar series highlighting the importance of enhancing and aligning programs, policies, and systems to better support young parent families. Today, we are pleased to announce the release of additional tools and resources related to young parents and families that you may find useful:

  • Toolkit for Supporting Young Families Through Human Services - A comprehensive selection of resources produced within the last three years and organized by central themes including pandemic response, policy, program design, youth voice, foster youth, economic well-being, education and mental health. This toolkit is a powerful resource for readers at every level, from health and human services leaders ready to critically evaluate and update programs with young parents in mind to those newly introduced to the topic and seeking further information.

  • Funding Programs for Young Parents and Families – This APHSA brief provides a summary of potential federal funding sources and programs that can be used to support programs specifically targeted towards young families. While this list is not exhaustive, it highlights major sources that can serve as a starting point for braiding and blending of funding to create comprehensive programming to serve young families.

Should you have any questions regarding the toolkit, or APHSA’s work, please contact Mary Nelson. For inquiries about Third Sector’s technical assistance services or the Southeastern Cohort on Young Parents and Families, please contact Joel Straker.

This work was made possible through grant funding from the Annie E. Casey Foundation.
