Café Cook and Kitchen Co-ordinator


The post holder will be an excellent cook, good home cooking skills and the ability to bake. They will however, be someone who has experience of working in a commercial setting, or, they can learn fast as they will need to complete training around food hygiene and ensure the kitchen, stock and produce management is to a high standard.

More than this, they need to believe in the core principles of the café’s work and be able to work with volunteers, service users and be willing to chip in to support the overall café team.

The post holder will be specifically responsible for most of the cooking, food preparation and menu planning. They will also be responsible for ensuring the kitchen meets all appropriate hygiene and environmental health requirements. Due to the unique aspects of what we do, they will also have to support the donations of food stuffs from supermarkets, training volunteers and people in placements in basic food prep and kitchen etiquette; and occasionally supporting ‘front of house’ activities.

Information Management Volunteer


Ensuring that we keep accurate information on services, events and projects throughout the Third Sector (charities, community groups, social enterprises etc.) helps ensure that we can support the signposting and referral processes across various services in Highland.


The role will form a key part of supporting the maintenance of information by regularly contacting groups and checking information is accurate, compiling that and supporting the distribution of accurate information to organisations for use when supporting people.

It is the only agency in this vast rural geographical area providing specialist support services to meet the needs of all women, children and young people (boys and girls) who experience domestic abuse/ violence against women. Working with an experienced team and Board of Directors, you will manage all aspects of CASWA to a high standard of operational delivery; to ensure that the strategic goals of the organisation meet the needs of all stakeholders including service users, staff and funders and that CASWA values are met.

Clinical Fellow / Specialty Doctor in Palliative Medicine


Highland Hospice is looking to recruit a new doctor to join an established team of two Consultants, a Specialty Doctor and a rotational GP Trainee in providing a specialist resource for the delivery of palliative care in the Scottish Highlands. This six-month post is based in Inverness at the Highland Hospice, which houses a 12- bedded inpatient unit, community support and other outpatient services. The Hospice clinical staff provide advice and ongoing clinical support to the acute and community hospitals run by NHS Highland and work closely with primary care teams to support individuals, their carers and health professionals in what is largely a remote and rural setting. At present, although under review as the pandemic advice changes, provision of services, particularly those which are community based and outpatient focussed are being offered in alternative ways to limit in-person contact.


Salary: Reflective of previous experience on Clinical Fellow or Specialty Doctor Pay Scale

We are looking for a Carer Link Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will promote the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 and Carers’ rights including the benefits of an Adult Carer Support Plan (ACSP) in supporting Carers to maintain their own well-being and day to day life.

Directly supporting Carers through preparing ACSPs to manage their caring role and to prevent where possible the escalation of their situation into critical or substantial need. You will use the National Framework of Eligibility to determine whether the local authority is required to provide support to Carers to meet Carers identified needs. In addition, gather evidence in support of Carers’ short breaks applications and share this with Social Work partners, who will present the case at District Care Planning.



Salary: 26,500.84

Citizens' Panel


The purpose of the our Citizens' Panel is to regularly consult with local people on a wide range of issues. We aim to ensure that membership of the Panel is broadly representative of a cross section of the population of the highlands.


We will ask Panel members for their views on a variety of issues such as their satisfaction with Council services. These include education, housing, social care, the environment, roads and transport, customer services and planning. We will send the Panel up to four surveys each year to complete and these can be completed online or on request, by paper. Each survey will remain open for around three weeks.
