Snow vs. Annual Meeting!
The possibility of a snowstorm looms large this weekend. If the snow passes us by, the annual meeting will proceed as normal after the 11:00 service. However, we will not have it catered this year, so please bring your own lunch.
If the snow does hit us, the Annual meeting will be on Zoom, starting at 1:00 p.m. We will make a decision by 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening and will send out the zoom link - so keep an eye out for this.
Above all, be safe and take care of yourself! Please do not take unnecessary risks.

Dear People of Ascension,
This past Tuesday I was invited to offer a prayer at an interfaith healing service, sponsored by the Beacon on the first anniversary of last year’s presidential inauguration. This is what I said. - Liz
Dear God, it has been a very long year. Who among us could have imagined when we gathered in January of 2025, what wreckage would be wrought in this time? We come to you weary, worn and broken-hearted for ourselves and our neighbors, our country and our world. We pray for immigrants and asylum seekers among us, all threatened with detention, separation and deportation. We pray for those who have lost food, healthcare, jobs, and access to life-saving programs across the globe. We pray for our trans siblings, whose very existence is threatened and denied. We pray for our children and elders, for all who are especially vulnerable in these perilous times and for our precious, endangered earth. We pray for everyone facing hard decisions and those experiencing moral injury.
Holy One, we cry for justice. We pray for wisdom, healing and strength. We commit ourselves anew to honor your divine image in every person, and to let our own lights shine, even when they seem small and flickering, even when we are afraid. Bless these gifts we offer. Ground us in your goodness, grace and love. Nourish us with companionship, care and joy. May our hearts be broken open in courage and fierce compassion for the repair and renewal of your world and the healing of our souls. We pray in your many names.
Amen

A Prayer for Spiritual Communion
If you are attending any of our services online, we invite you to use this prayer at communion.
In union, O Lord, with your faithful people at every altar of your Church, where the Holy Eucharist is now being celebrated, I desire to offer to you praise and thanksgiving. I remember your death, Lord Christ; I proclaim your resurrection; I await your coming in glory. Since I cannot receive you today in the Sacrament of your Body and Blood, I beseech you to come spiritually into my heart. Cleanse and strengthen me with your grace, Lord Jesus, and let me never be separated from you. May I live in you, and you in me, in this life and in the life to come. Amen.

Immigration Legal Support Fund – Recently our diocese announced a new Immigration Legal Support Fund to support immigrant families in our congregations and neighborhoods throughout the Diocese of New York. The Legal Fund will help those navigating immigration under urgent and vulnerable circumstances to access legal resources. We're starting with a $50,000 contribution from the Bishop’s discretionary funds. Help us to match this amount to keep families together. With your support, we can do more so that no one faces the system alone. Your contribution makes possible same-day response, family preparedness, limited-scope appearances, and urgent filings. You can contribute here. To learn more about the Immigration Legal Support Fund Click here.
