Sunday of the Word of God

Pope Francis instituted the Sunday of the Word of God, celebrated this year on Sunday, January 22, 2023. It is an opportunity to consider how we engage with God’s Word individually and as a community. By listening attentively to the scripture readings and the homily, we open ourselves to inner transformation. Consider browsing these resources to use for yourself or your family at https://www.usccb.org/committees/divine-worship/sunday-word-god

Volunteers Needed for ABVM Coffee Hours

ABVM will be hosting a coffee hour once a month after the 9:30 am Mass through June. Volunteers are needed to bring goodies (baked goods, fruit, coffee, etc.) and to help with set-up and clean-up. The currently scheduled dates for coffee hours are January 22,

February 12, March 12, April 16 and June 4. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Coleen McGrath at coleen.mcgrath@gmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you!

Social Justice Action and Family Faith Collaborate

Join the Social Justice Action Committee and Family Faith to gather gently-used or new slippers, pjs, bras and robes for moms who have come out of prison and are getting back on their feet and back with their families at Providence House. Gifts can be brought to the back of both churches through January 29. Click here to learn more about Providence House.

Initial Questions Requested In Advance

Hi! I certainly have ideas of what I would like to share at our Parish Gathering on Jan 24th. I would also like to prepare, allowing me to speak to what's on folks' minds. I ask that parishioners use this anonymous form to submit their questions in advance.

Accompanied by the lay leadership of The Oratory Parishes, on Tuesday, January 24th I will host an in-person-only gathering. This will provide an opportunity to present and share plans for the coming months now that Fathers Mark Lane and Anthony Andreassi will be on leave. The gathering will take place at 7:00pm in our newly-renovated Parish Hall at Assumption. All parishioners from the Oratory Parishes are welcome to attend to talk a little, share a little, listen a little and pray a little. Thanks so much for the consistent words of support I've received these past days.
