No General Dispensation

The Archdiocese of Chicago is not granting a general dispensation for the Memorial of St. Patrick from the obligation to abstain from meat on Fridays in Lent. Instead, Catholics who find themselves at an event where meat is served in celebrating St. Patrick may in good conscience substitute the general rule of abstinence with another form of penance or a significant act of charity that benefits the poor. Regardless, it is important to take seriously the obligation to observe Fridays in Lent as a way of uniting ourselves to Jesus who died on Good Friday. That should not be undervalued as we reflect on his sacrifice on the Cross for the salvation of the world in this holy season.

Save the Date for Our Parish Lenten Mission!

Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament's Annual Parish Mission will be "Body of Christ, Broken for the World: The Eucharistic Revival and You." Don't miss this opportunity to deepen your faith and relationship with Jesus Christ. All are welcome to join us Monday, March 20th to Wednesday, March 22nd nightly at 7:00pm at St. Julian Eymard.

Winter Supper - April 6th

Thank you to everyone who helps shop, cook, prep or pack for Winter and Summer Suppers or donates to the Poor Box for Catholic Charities Dinners! During Holy Week, on Thursday, April 6th, we will pack a special Easter Supper for our homeless neighbors. Because the first Thursday of the month falls on Holy Thursday, we will need extra helpers to make sure that Shea Hall is completely cleaned and cleared ahead of the 7pm Holy Thursday of the Lord's Passion Mass at St. Julian. The Altar of Repose will be setup in Shea Hall and all attending Mass will be invited to visit the Altar following Mass.

Shop, Cook, Prep, Pack!

Be an Adorer

financial well-being of the Church.

Gospel in Focus

March 12, 2023 Jesus shares Words of Knowledge to a Samaritan woman at the well, and changes her life as He invites her to new life in the Holy Spirit... “But the

hour is coming, and is now here, when true worshippers will worship the Father in Spirit and truth; and indeed the Father seeks such people to worship Him.” —John 4:23

Discussion Questions

What does it mean to worship the Father in“spirit and in truth?”

The woman at the well received Jesus completely. How could she have reacted when He revealed her sins to her?
