Ring out for Climate Change
As part of our Oratory Parishes action, we will be participating in Ring Out For Climate Change on Saturday Oct 30. from 6 to 6:30pm. This is done on the eve of the United Nations Climate Conference in Glasgow, Scotland. Church bells have historically been rung to call us to worship, as we celebrate joyous occasions and to ring out warnings in times of distress.

We are inviting all our parishioners, families and youth, to gather for the 5 pm Mass at Assumption where we will focus on Laudato Si and our role to act, pray, lead, and advocate for God’s creation. At the conclusion of Mass, we will gather on Cranberry Street to ring our bells. Bring your own bell. The bell at St. Boniface will also ring during this time as we pray in solidarity with Pope Francis and Catholics around the world for a conversion of our environmental stewardship.

The names for the All Souls Novena of Masses will be placed in the Book of the Dead at both parishes. You are also invited to bring a picture of a loved one to place on the altar or light a candle in their memory. If you are unable to be present physically, you can email your picture and names to info@oratorychurch.org.

A Prayer for Our Earth
By Pope Francis
All-powerful God, you are present in the whole universe & in the smallest of your creatures.
You embrace with your tenderness all that exists.
Pour out upon us the power of your love, that we may protect life & beauty.
Fill us with peace, that we may live
as brothers & sisters, harming no one. O God of the poor,
help us to rescue the abandoned
& forgotten of this earth,
so precious in your eyes.
Bring healing to our lives,
that we may protect the world
& not prey on it,
that we may sow beauty,
not pollution & destruction.
Touch the hearts of those who look only for gain at the expense of the poor & the earth. Teach us to discover the worth of each thing, to be filled with awe & contemplation, to recognize that we are profoundly united with every creature
as we journey towards your infinite light.
We thank you for being with us each day.
Encourage us, we pray, in our struggle for justice, love & peace.
Amen.
Stewardship
Your faithful stewardship has helped sustain our communities and maintain vital ministries and services. Thank you for keeping faith with us and supporting our common work of the gospel. You can make your donation online through PushPay by clicking on one of the links.
