CUNY Callouts

Dhanush Sirohi, a 2023 grad of Baruch’s Zicklin School of Business, had a career as a fashion designer before starting the MBA program. He is now working at Bristol Myers Squibb and participating in a three-year leadership development program, where he will rotate through different areas of the company. He credits Zicklin’s Graduate Career Management Center for helping him make connections with several alumni and prepare for interviews.

What was your experience like at CUNY, and what challenges have you overcome?

“Since I majored in fashion design as an undergraduate, fitting into a business school cohort was my biggest challenge. Despite having a non-traditional background, I was incredibly welcomed at CUNY. My cohort showed appreciation for my thoughts and gave me a sense of community.”

What can current students do now to help their professional growth?

“The key is networking! My best piece of advice is to use your school years to build meaningful relationships with your professors and peers; it will pay off in the long run. You will be shocked to discover your calling in the most unexpected areas, so I would also advise using internships to explore several industries.”

What do you miss most about Baruch?

“I miss my cohort the most and impromptu plans we used to make. I also miss getting tons of student discounts.”
