Dear Families and Staff:
Thank you to the efforts of so many, we had a fantastic turnout for Open House last night. Our 2018-19 school year is off to a great start! It is indeed a privilege and a pleasure to work with you as partners in our children's education. We have such an important role together in preparing our students for their future. Our opening staff convocation earlier this week with all of our community partners spoke clearly that as a school and community, we believe that "our staff goes above and our students go beyond" to ensure the best education possible. We welcome back all our returning and our new families to our great school where we are Eagle Strong!

HAUNTED MANSION NEEDS YOUR HELP
|
The Haunted Mansion does a fantastic job supporting so many of our school activities and their needs. Now in its 13th year, the Mansion has no paid positions and continues to be supported by volunteer hours from the community. Please consider your family's donating time (adults and children alike) either in getting the Mansion ready now here in September or working the October weekends. Once you experience the fun and camaraderie of this group, you will be hooked for sure. You can contact Sue Marchant at 920.493.4266 or Cory Vandertie at 920.676.1920 if you would like more details.

SOUTHERN DOOR TECH ED DEPARTMENT SELECTED FOR EDUCATION INNOVATION AWARD
The Southern Door County School District will be awarded the Education Innovation Award at the 7th annual "Excellence in Manufacturing/K-12 Partnerships Awards" being held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the KI Convention Center in Green Bay. The event which is sponsored by the Northeast Wisconsin (NEW) Manufacturing Alliance spotlights best practices of manufacturing and education collaborations.
The technical education department at Southern Door has a long-standing tradition of excellence in preparing our youth for the trades, manufacturing, and engineering. Such innovative programs as the High School Formula Racecar program under the direction of instructor, Mr. Dave LeBrun and the High School Fab Lab, under the direction of Mr. Glen VanderVelden continue to engage our students in new career pathways. Such programs are made possible through strong partnerships that the district has fostered with local businesses and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.
