Father's Day is a reminder that every baby deserves someone who shows up for them. Hushabye sees fathers learning how to comfort a newborn, support their family, attend appointments, and keep moving forward even when the road is difficult. Hushabye sees men discover strengths they didn't know they had and find confidence in their role as a dad. Some of the most powerful moments happen in the quiet—holding a baby through a tough night, celebrating a small victory, or simply being present. Those moments build trust, connection, and stronger families. This Father's Day, Hushabye celebrates the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures who continue to show up, put in the work, and love their children with their whole hearts.

Realistically, we know that a person's story isn't always filled with ankle high hurdles and happy endings. Often times there's a great story behind the big, earned smiles. Lyric's story is one of them.

At just two years old, Lyric is already filling the world around him with joy, laughter, and love. A natural athlete from the start, he loves anything involving a ball, splashing in the water, visiting the zoo, and spending time with his two beloved doodles. But his biggest smiles are reserved for his GG, his great grandma, whose name alone lights up his face.

Watching Lyric grow has been incredible. He walked at 11 months, started talking around 18 months, and is now a happy little chatterbox learning both English and Spanish at his bilingual school.

After the loss of Lyric’s father in December 2024, his family knew he would always remain surrounded by love. His grandmother stepped into the role of caregiver, supported every step of the way by family, especially his great grandma and great aunt.

In his earliest days, Hushabye Nursery provided the comfort, medical care, and compassion Lyric needed while withdrawing from substances at birth. His caregiver says the team not only cared for Lyric but also helped her feel confident and supported during an uncertain time.

“The nurturing and care he received made such a meaningful difference in his development,” she shared. “I never felt alone.” Lyric's grandma is sure that without Hushabye, Lyric's story might have taken a very different path.

Today, Lyric is thriving — deeply loved, endlessly supported, and surrounded by people determined to honor his father’s legacy by giving him a beautiful life.

When asked to describe their journey in three words, his caregiver answered simply:

“Chosen through love.”

Join us for a powerful evening that brings together a community of World Changers who believe every baby deserves a healthy start. What began as a hopeful vision has grown into a night of meaningful impact—raising critical funds to support substance-exposed newborns and the families who love them.

We invite you to be part of this special night by purchasing tickets or becoming a sponsor. Your support helps ensure that even the smallest stars have the brightest beginnings.

Rachel is one of those people who brings Hushabye's values to life every single day. She represents what it means to be a team player and keeps the spirit of fun alive, whether she's getting everyone on board with a round of "SHAMMA" or finding a way to make people smile during a busy day. As our Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, she leads with compassion, helps moms and dads find their voices, and creates a safe space for healing and growth. The impact she has on the families we serve is impossible to measure.

Rachel is also the person who says, "I've got you," and then gets it done and really does 'got you'. Whether it's jumping on a call with an insurance provider, leading daily huddles, or taking on something completely new, she approaches every task with a positive attitude and follows through. She does the right thing, thinks outside the box, and consistently steps up when help is needed.

What Rachel brings to Hushabye goes far beyond her job description, and we are grateful for the leadership, heart, and dedication she brings to our team each day.

Did you know... that Hushabye Nursery doesn’t just care for babies inside our nursery walls?

Many people know us for helping babies safely withdraw from substances after birth, but what many people may not realize is that our support often begins during pregnancy and continues long after a baby goes home.

Our team walks alongside families through some of the hardest and most uncertain moments of their lives. We help connect moms to prenatal care, substance use treatment, counseling, transportation, resources, parenting support, and outpatient services designed to keep families together whenever safely possible. We help parents learn how to soothe, feed, bond with, and care for their babies with confidence.

Even after discharge, families continue receiving support through case management, therapy, peer support, developmental guidance, and connection to community resources. We celebrate milestones, answer late-night questions, encourage parents through setbacks, and remind them they are not alone.

At Hushabye, our mission has always been bigger than a hospital stay. It’s about changing the trajectory of a family’s future through compassion, education, support, and hope.
