Aurora Reservoir swim beach, outdoor pools and spraygrounds reopening Memorial Day weekend

Are you itching for a beach day? Well, the wait is almost over. Aurora Reservoir's swim beach, outdoor pools and spraygrounds reopen for the season beginning Memorial Day weekend May 27.

While the reservoir is open year-round, the swim beach is open only during the summer months. It’s a great place to host a family reunion, birthday party, company picnic or just a gathering of friends and family. A variety of shelters are available for rental, with capacities ranging from 20 to 300 people.

Daily passes are available; however, the best deal is our annual pass which gives you access to both Aurora Reservoir and Quincy Reservoir for one low price! For more information, call the Aurora Reservoir at 303.326.8425 or visit AuroraGov.org/Reservoirs.

In addition, the city of Aurora spraygrounds located at Great Plains Park and Red-tailed Hawk Park will open Memorial Day weekend on May 27, and close the weekend of Labor Day. Specific location details, programming and hours can be found by visiting AuroraGov.org/Pools and selecting “Outdoor Pools & Spraygrounds.”

Give us feedback for library remodel on Colfax Avenue

The city is preparing to remodel the Martin Luther King Jr. Library, 9898 E. Colfax Ave., to activate the building's second floor, enhance the children's library, and provide welcoming and inviting spaces for residents of all ages to engage in a variety of activities. The $2.5 million federally funded remodel is intended to create better library space for residents and create a place for community and connection on Colfax.

Take our short survey online at EngageAurora.org/MLKRemodel through June 13 to share what you want to see and experience at this library. Community open houses also are happening from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 1, and from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 3, to share your feedback through interactive activities. Children are welcome; stop by anytime on either day.
