Restaurants and more retail reopening
|
|
Following state guidelines for public health safety, restaurants in Aurora and across the state started to gradually reopen in-person dining on Wednesday. This week we also see more retail stores reopening across the city while meeting health and safety guidelines.
As Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman stated, “businesses are the backbone of our community,” hence the city’s proactive actions to make available
local guidance
for restaurants since last week, as well simplifying and expediting procedures to operate outdoors. The goal was to have Aurora restaurants prepared for the state’s reopening guidelines.
As we continue under the “Safer-at-Home” order until at least June 1, per the governor’s order extension, Aurora businesses can find resources on the city COVID-19
webpage for businesses
, as well on Tri-County Health Department's
website
. Tri-County’s Business Reopening Task Force and the Aurora Chamber of Commerce have a webinar, “Back to Business, Open for Questions,” taking place 9 a.m. Friday, May 29. (Follow

Aurora Public Library opens curbside pickup
|
|
Contact-free curbside pickup is now open at Aurora Public Library. Now, library patrons can pick up items from their favorite library branch after they place items on hold online.
The curbside pickup is a simple process. After browsing the online catalog and locating the desired items, patrons place them on hold and select the library branch from which they intend to pick up their materials. If the person needs personal assistance, library staff can place holds for them over the phone during business hours. Once the items are ready for pickup, patrons will be contacted by library staff.
For the actual contact-free pick up, patrons are to call the library when they arrive and remain in vehicle with their library card ready while they wait for further direction. Library staff will place the items on a table near the front of the building from where the patron can pick up once staff member enters the building.
The Aurora Public Library branches offering curbside pickup are Central, Hoffman Heights, Martin Luther King Jr., Mission Viejo and Tallyn’s Reach.
