This Is My Story, This Is My Song

This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday. Pentecost Sunday marks a significant shift in the Christian worship seasons. The most recent season was Eastertide, and we celebrated Jesus' resurrection from the dead. Jesus is no longer in the grave, and he gave us the heads up that he would longer be with us in bodily, earthly form. Nevertheless, he gave us the assurance that even in his physical, earthly absence, we have the presence of the Holy Spirit. Pentecost Sunday marks the beginning of the church being empowered by the Holy Spirit to go out and continue the mission and message of the Resurrected Christ. We thank God the Holy Spirit rained down two thousand years ago and continues to rain down to this day. Let us be captured in the presence of the Holy Spirit that is with us and among us. Let us open ourselves to being endowed and empowered by the sweet, sweet Spirit that rests in us, around us, and beyond us.

Lura Turner Homes is collecting new and gently used towels and sheets for the LTH residents.

Please donate bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths, TWIN fitted and flat sheets before church in the lobby. Donations will be accepted until the end of June.
