IS AFFORDABLE HOUSING AN ISSUE FOR YOU?-NEW
Taught by Lee Stark
Thursday, June 15th
5:30pm-7pm
FREE
#55895
Affordable housing has become extremely scarce. Across Texas, there is a shortage of rental homes affordable and available to low-income households. Many of these households are cost burdened, spending more than half of their income on housing. Severely cost-burdened households are more likely than other renters to sacrifice other necessities like healthy food and healthcare to pay the rent, and to experience unstable housing situations like evictions. Is affordable housing becoming a concern for you? Attend this seminar for information about the types of affordable housing out there and the alternative to a one-person household. Bring your questions about housing assistance programs. Led by the street outreach social worker for The Wellness Center For Older Adults.

LEVERAGING HOME EQUITY AGAINST INFLATION-NEW
Taught by Blake Hollers
Thursday, June 22nd
6pm-7pm
$5
#55254
Learn the ways to convert some home equity into cash to help preserve other assets and improve monthly cash flow. Many retirees worry about outliving their savings. The rising prices of groceries, gas, electricity and the overall cost of living increase this fear and put more pressure on remaining assets. Home values have increased significantly, but wealth locked up in home equity is worthless until converted to cash. A new paradigm regarding home equity can help in times of high inflation and investment value decline. For those still making a mortgage payment, learn how to make that payment optional instead of required. For those with no mortgage, learn how to open a growing line of credit to help in future years.

National Trails Day® is Saturday, June 3rd
National Trails Day is always celebrated on the first Saturday in June. Organized by the American Hiking Society, the event recognizes all the incredible benefits that federal, state and local trails provide for recreation and exposure to nature.
National Trails Day Pledge:
“In honor of National Trails Day, I’ll leave the trails and the outdoor community better than I found them.”
It's always great to commit to leaving the trails and our outdoor community better than you found them. Take a trash bag with you whenever you hike or go for a walk. Collect trash on a local trail, along your neighborhood sidewalk, or in a natural space near you.
In this technology-filled busy world, it’s often hard to quiet the mind and think. Getting into nature offers a way to find some silence and clarity. Our minds and bodies need silence in order to regenerate...

Hiking Supplies - Word Search
Jigsaw Puzzles for Challenging Fun
Challenge Yourself with Wordle
Wordle is a web-based word game developed by Josh Wardle. A player has six attempts to guess a five-letter word. Feedback is given for each guess, in the form of colored tiles, indicating when letters match or occupy the correct position.
Every day, it's a new five-letter word. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray.
- Green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position.
- Yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position.
- Gray indicates it is not in the answer at all.
Target words may have duplicate letters, such as the "o" in "robot", and the color-coded responses do not clue the player about additional uses of such duplicated letters. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses.
The game also has a dark theme as well as a high-contrast theme for colorblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.
