Dogs entering SJC are required to be service animals. A service animal is any dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of a person with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability. The ADA requires the animal to be under the control of the handler. This can occur using a harness, leash, or other tether. Emotional support animals, comfort animals, and therapy dogs are not service animals under Title II and Title III of the ADA and are not allowed into the facility.

Summer Pool Schedule/Oak Point Pool Update

Plano outdoor pools are open only on weekends through Labor Day, Monday, September 5th. The timing of these closures is out of necessity, as many of our aquatics staff have left for college or high school. Weekend pool hours may vary due to staffing availability. Please visit planoparks.org for the most up-to-date pool hours.

Work is continuing on the new outdoor pool at Oak Point Recreation Center. However, due to today’s challenging construction market, there have been many delays and therefore the pool will be unable to open before the end of the summer outdoor swimming season. Challenge Yourself with Wordle
Wordle is a web-based word game developed by Josh Wardle. A player has six attempts to guess a five-letter word. Feedback is given for each guess, in the form of colored tiles, indicating when letters match or occupy the correct position.

Every day, it's a new five-letter word. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray.

  • Green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position.
  • Yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position.
  • Gray indicates it is not in the answer at all.

Target words may have duplicate letters, such as the "o" in "robot", and the color-coded responses do not clue the player about additional uses of such duplicated letters. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses.

The game also has a dark theme as well as a high-contrast theme for colorblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.
