September is National Suicide Prevention Month. Did you know youth who experience foster care are 4x more likely to attempt suicide than other youth?

It's a sobering thought, but information is power. We want to provide you with information to help address this mental health crisis in your home and your community.

Research proves that foster parents can and do have a positive impact on children! Here are some great resources with tips on parenting youth in foster care and talking to kids about suicide: one from the National Suicide Center for the Prevention of Youth Suicide, one from Foster Focus magazine, and one from the Department of Veterans' Affairs.

Finally, if you want to help spread the word about suicide prevention, check out the social media graphics you can download here.
