Spring is in the Air! • MARCH 2021
The return of the spring birds and longer days are outward reminders of good things that lay ahead. MCA volunteer committees here are flush with exciting projects, the building is gearing up for all new LED lighting and carpeting in the hallways, and the schools are looking at fresh new spring and summer programming. We know there are more weeks of winter, but if you look closely, the garden slowly awakens with the 100+ daffodils that we planted last fall.
And we can't wait for all these new things to unfold!
Classes
There is something for everyone under our roof (or under yours). If you do not find a class that you are looking for call our staff at 781.862.6040 to find out more. Because of COVID-19 precautions, classes will be small, and early registration is recommended.
Lexington School of Ballet

LSB is currently in their spring semester, and has summer registration open for ages 10 and above with two-week and eight-week summer programs as well as weekly classes in their summer sessions in July & August.
Visual Arts

Find your favorite traditional classes in painting, drawing, and ceramics, as well as some exciting new offerings this spring such as teen knitting and Friday afternoon kids classes. Beyond these eight week classes are new workshops in making big clay pots, watercolors, or wool painting (to name a few).

Spring semester begins April 5th.
Lexington Music School

LMS is still here and teaching virtual private lessons in piano, violin, cello, guitar and voice. They are excited to be planning for the return to the classroom for in-person group piano lessons.
Coming soon: new beginner group piano class for on Wednesdays at 4pm.

9 Weeks of Summer Camp
Being creative can be messy! Sign up for any number of weeks of outdoor projects with friends and let us handle the clean-up.

Summer is about being outdoors and having fun, and we have both!
MCA Inspiration
ArtWalk's Painted Post project is underway with over two dozen artists and students hard at work translating their artwork to posts. Look for the installation mid-March near the Visitors' Center.

Two posts will be part of the Lex Lights up the Night Grab & Go event happening this Friday. Register online for a free kit with either bike lights or lights to wear, reflective material, and related safety and information. Tag us when you find the reflective posts along the bike path! #LexArtWalk #BeSafeBeSeen
The work of MCA studio artist Zoe Perry Wood can be seen at Concord Art's new juried show now through March 25
If you are walking through the Center, stop by the middle floor to get a close-up look at some of the artwork that was created for the street barriers last summer.
