May Energy Legislation

May 22 - S. 1902: ETAP Act of 2025

Introduced by Sen. James Risch [R-ID], this bill would require the Secretary of Energy to establish an energy threat analysis program, and for other purposes.


May 15 - H.R. 3431: Green Energy for Federal Buildings Act

Introduced by Rep. Julia [D-CA26], this bill would amend the Energy Policy Act of 2005 to update the Federal purchase requirement to ensure the use of 100 percent renewable energy by 2050, and for other purposes.


May 15 - H.R. 2472: Federal Mechanical Insulation Act

Introduced by Rep. Randy Weber [R-TX14], this bill would clarify that the installation of mechanical insulation property is an energy or water efficiency measure that may be used in Federal buildings for purposes of section 543(f) of the National Energy Conservation Policy Act, and for other purposes.


May 14 - S. 1757: Efficient Nuclear Licensing Hearings Act

Introduced by Sen. Tim Scott [R-SC], this bill would amend the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 to provide for more efficient hearings on nuclear facility construction applications and for other purposes.


May 14 - S. 1762: NEDD Act of 2025

Introduced by Sen. Gary Peters [D-MI], this bill would exempt the Secretary of Energy of certain prohibitions with respect to an unmanned aircraft system, and for other purposes.


May 13 - H.R. 3341: LIT Act of 2025

Introduced by Rep. Craig Goldman [R-T12], this bill would amend the Energy Policy and Conservation Act to modify standards for general service lamps, and for other purposes.


May 8 - H.R. 3313: Protecting American Farmland Act

Introduced by Rep. David Taylor [R-OH2], this bill would prohibit the head of a Federal agency from using Federal funds for certain solar energy projects that would result in the conversion of farmland, to exclude from certain tax credits relation to clean energy facilities placed in service on prime farmland, and for other purposes.

May 7 - H.R. 3231: American Energy Act

Introduced by Rep. Lauren Boebert [R-CO4], this bill would amend the Mineral Leasing Act to clarify the effect of a pending civil action on the processing of an application for a permit to drill, to require courts to remand lease sale Environmental Impact Statements to agencies to remedy when necessary, and to establish a term limit for permits to drill.


May 1 - S. 1566: Preventing Power Outages Act

Introduced by Sen. Gary Peters [D-MI], this bill would extend a program for preventing outages and enhancing the resilience of the electric grid, and for other purposes.


May 1 - H.R. 3167: Noncontiguous Energy Relief Access Act of 2025

Introduced by Rep. Ritchie Torres [D-NY15], this bill would amend title 46, United States Code, to allow for the transportation of energy products on vessels between points in the United States to which the coastwise laws apply if at least one such point is in Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and for other purposes.

Introduced by Sen. Mike Lee [R-UT], this bill would amend the Energy Policy and Conservation Act to modify standards for general service lamps, and for other purposes.


May 1 - H.R. 3143: State Planning for Reliability and Affordability Act

Introduced by Rep. Gabe Evans [R-CO8], this bill would amend the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978 to add a standard related to State considerations of reliable generation, and for other purposes.
