The Truth Is I Hear You

In the summer of 2016, The Cause Collective brought their Truth Booth , an inflatable video recording studio in the shape of a giant speech bubble, to tour several neighborhoods in Detroit and Flint. Come see the recordings from the tour presented as a 60-foot-wide video installation intended to expand our understanding of what our community defines as real, authentic, valuable or true.

Drawing its inspiration from traditional museum period rooms, this exhibition reinvents that presentation model by featuring distinct spaces that examine key moments in Cranbrook's history. The evolution of the domestic landscape is chronicled by showcasing works from our collections.

Museum Makery: Weaving

Ever wanted to try your hand at weaving but not sure where to start? Join us for an evening with CAA Fiber graduate, Margaret Hull. Learn weaving basics using a prepared table loom-including plain weave, and tapestry. Participants will leave with an original, woven wall hanging.
