A Great Start to Spring

We're happy to be back on campus and off to an exciting start to the spring semester. From Welcome Week to what's ahead, this semester is full of opportunities to connect, learn, and get involved.

Library Events & Activities

From academic skills workshops to movies, book clubs, and more, the library is hosting a variety of events designed to support you in your classes and help you unwind this semester.

America 250

This year marks 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. In recognition of this historic milestone, SJR State will celebrate America 250 with a series of free events throughout the spring and summer 2026 semesters.

Don't leave free money on the table!

Scholarships are available to help support your education! The SJR State Foundation offers a wide range of scholarships each year. The application window is open from October 1 through June 1, with priority review by April 1. Apply and learn more here. Students can also explore the FSE Scholarship, with a deadline of March 6.

Let's go, Vikings!

Softball, baseball, and beach volleyball are back! Come watch the Vikings in action this season and experience the excitement of game day on campus.

FloArts Presents Electra by Sophocles

In this timeless Greek tragedy, Electra stands defiant in the face of betrayal and grief, consumed by the need to avenge her father’s death. Surrounded by nature and myth, this raw and haunting tale explores justice, fate, and the fierce power of a daughter’s devotion.

Bring a chair and enjoy the show at the SJR State Palatka Campus Courtyard.

Showtimes include:

  • Friday, February 20 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, February 21 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, February 22 at 5:30 p.m.

Graduating this spring?

Get ready for your big day by completing the graduation application and ordering your cap and gown. The deadline is February 27.

Student Support Ombuds

Hunger shouldn’t be part of the college experience, and thanks to the Viking Exchange, our campus food pantry, it doesn’t have to be.

We’re working hard to keep our shelves full for every student. Help us keep the pantry stocked by scanning the QR code. Responses are anonymous.

Take care of your mind with free support! SJR State students have access to BetterMynd, a free mental health counseling resource. Services include:

  • Limited individual virtual counseling sessions - Students must meet with an Ombuds first to access these sessions.
  • Unlimited live workshops - No Ombuds meeting required. Visit bettermynd.com to join.
  • 24/7 crisis support - Call the hotline any time, day or night.

BetterMynd makes it easy to get support when you need it, whether you want to attend a workshop, speak with a counselor, or access help during a crisis.
