Author Talk with Kate Quinn and Laura Kamoie

Join authors Kate Quinn and Laura Kaomie on their national tour for their new book, Ribbons of Scarlet: A Novel of the French Revolution. This free community event will be followed by a reception and book signing at 7:30 p.m.

Kate Quinn is author of USA Today and New York Times best seller, The Alice Network , which was also a Reese Witherspoon Book Club pick. Laura Kamoie is also a Wall Street Journal , New York Times , and USA Today best selling author of America's First Daughte r.

Exhibition: Lost Ones

Oct. 3-31, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Jo Carol Mitchell-Rogers’s Lost Ones exhibition began as a reaction to the sudden death of a close friend several years ago and has evolved to Mitchell-Rogers constructing narratives rather than commenting on existing ones. Working with vintage family photos as source material, she manipulates the scenarios by combining images, altering the physical and emotional relationships among the figures. The artist will present a Gallery Talk on October 3rd at 6:00 p.m. immediately followed by a reception.

The Dragon

Oct. 4, 7:30 PM; Oct. 5-6, 2:30 PM

Journey back to 1919 and join a band of traveling street performers as they share their fantastical and hilarious tale in which a Princess must find a way to save herself from becoming a tasty treat for a very hungry dragon. Theatre Converse presents this 50 minute production filled with myth, folklore and legends is perfect for all ages! Children 12 and under are free!

Converse Symphony Orchestra presents the 2019 Young Artist Competition Winners

Oct. 17, 7:30 PM

Come hear our 2019 Young Artist Competition winners in action under the baton of Siegwart Reichwald! The concert will include Haydn’s Symphony No. 104, Mozart’s “In uomini, in soldati” from Così fan tutte and Der Hölle Rache from Die Zauberflöte, and Georges Hüe’s Fantaisie pour flûte et piano.
