Spartanburg favorite, Marshall Chapman presents the best of Nashville – WILL KIMBROUGH and Tommy Womack Music for an evening of songs and stories on stage in the historic Twichell Auditorium at Converse University. “Tommy and Will are as brilliant as it gets as far as present-day Nashville.” Marshall says. “This will be my favorite show of the year, for sure. It will be a night to remember!”

Like much of his music, Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 tells us a story, one that has you sweeping from a delighted feeling of playfulness through the shadow of loss, to fully realized triumph and glory. Never before played by your Spartanburg Philharmonic, the sheer power and scale of this symphony will leave you feeling inspired to take on the world. Elevator access to the main floor. No elevator access to the balconies.

Our Spartanburg Philharmonic student musicians have dedicated themselves to expanding their skills and broadening their repertoire this season. Now, we invite you to join us for our final concert this season in celebration of their success.
The Spartanburg Philharmonic Youth Orchestra programs provide beginning and advanced musical training for instrumental students in Spartanburg, SC and surrounding areas. The Senior Youth Orchestra serves all musicians in Grades 9-12 and the Junior Youth Orchestra is open to string students Grades 6-8.
A Livestream ticket option is being offered to those who cannot attend the live concert. A link will be sent to your email address one hour before the concert begins.

Tasha Layton at Converse University

One of Christian music’s leading new female voices, Tasha Layton was among the genre’s Top 5 female vocalists of 2020 according to Billboard. Her powerful anthem “Into The Sea (It’s Gonna Be OK)” became one of Christian radio’s biggest songs last year, garnering more than 10 million streams. Her latest single, “Look What You’ve Done,” is currently Top 10 and climbing. South Carolina-native and Converse graduate, come see her perform live in Twichell followed by a Q&A Session. Auditorium doors open at 7 pm.

Spartanburg Festival Chorus: Jubilate Deo

The Petrie School of Music and the Spartanburg Festival Chorus present Jubilate Deo, a celebration of the music of Greenville composer Dan Forrest. It will open with a beautiful a cappella setting of the Latin text Non Nobis, Domine and will follow with the featured work Jubilate Deo a 50-minute piece for chorus and instrumental chamber ensemble. This work brings to life the global aspect of the traditional Psalm 100 text, “O be joyful in the Lord, all ye lands,” by setting it in seven different languages and drawing from a wide spectrum of musical influences.
