Cottage Meetings

The Transition Team is holding cottage meetings with the help of hosts to discuss who the church is and where God is taking us as we prepare for our new pastor. Updates from the Session:

Financial Report: In May, our total income came to $9,667, while our total expenses came to $13,895. We have received $75,483 in pledged giving for the year, which is 56% of our total pledges.

As we enter the summer months and attendance may go down as more people travel, please remember to keep your giving current. One way to easily do this is to set up automatic giving through Realm. Please reach out to the church office if you need any help setting this up.

-----------------

We have received $49,000 in pledges for the "Close the Gap Campaign" that the session has launched in order to fulfill the budget/pledge gap for 2024. We are only $11,000 away from the goal of $60,000! Thank you for all your contributions to the life and ministry of our congregation."

June 23:The Women's Fellowship is hosting a cottage meeting for the transition team in the Fellowship following worship. This meeting is especially designed for the women in our congregation. Light lunch will be served.

A little Jesus goes a long way!

On Easter Sunday, miniature Jesus figures were given out to the congregation as a reminder that he is with us wherever we go. If you did not get one, we have more available in the sanctuary. We ask that you please share pictures of wherever you take him with you, and post on social media with the hashtag #findlittlejesusFPCMA. Let’s see how many shares we can get!

We had fun celebrating the last days of First Steps!

Wishing everyone a great summer!

Lunchtime Bible Study

Every Tuesday, Dr Ritsch offers an hour long Bible study starting at noon.

We are currently studying the Gospel of Mark.

Bring a lunch if you’d like as we discuss what both scholarship and our hearts tell us as we study God’s word.

Kitchen Clean Up: We have a lot of items including serving plates that have been left in the kitchen over the past few months. Please take a look and take home anything that it yours. Things will be donated after June 14th.

Changing Table: First Steps is in need of a diaper changing table. If you have one you would willing to donate, contact Mary Alice.

Matchbox cars: The children in First Steps love small cars and they disappear over time. If you have some you're willing to part with, they would be much appreciated. You can leave them in the foyer, and someone will get them to Mary Alice.

Counseling Volunteer Opportunity: The Surry County Office of Substance Abuse Recovery partnered with the Northwest Piedmont Workforce Development Board is offering a series of recovery coach counseling sessions this summer. The training will take place at Surry Community College over several dates in June, July and August. If you are interested in participating, please contact Jamie Edwards at 336-401-8218.
