Happy Spring!
Hello RMS students, families and community members! 

Welcome back to in-person classes, and welcome back to spring! We are so happy to be able to continue teaching and learning with you, and are building strong relationships with our students each day. Taking it slowly has been beneficial, as we are all learning how to properly be educated in creative ways...with masks on and utilizing all safety precautions. 

We are full in person Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays (for families who have chosen this option) after spring break on April 6th. Please speak with your scholar about the importance of wearing masks, social distancing and washing hands. Safety is our number one priority, and we need your help communicating that to our scholars. We are 281 stronger...TOGETHER!

  • Wednesdays are online/Distance Learning for all students.
Hybrid Students request their Wednesday Meal Bundle in Advisory each Monday

Apply today for Educational Benefits

A new round of P-EBT is starting for families with students who have been in distance or hybrid learning.

Families qualify for these benefits based on the learning model we are in and if they qualify for free and reduced meals via the application for educational benefits/or directly through SNAP or TANF.

This program is administered by MN Department of Human Services and districts are tasked with providing them information. If you are a family who has not yet applied, you are encouraged to do so now.

Students who qualify for free or reduced priced meals will receive FREE breakfast and FREE lunch, along with receiving reduced rates for certain school fees as well as Community Education classes. Applications must be filled out every school year in order to qualify; applications can be completed any time during the school year.

Online Educational Benefits application is linked. You can also request a paper application from our school or the Education Service Center at 4148 Winnetka Avenue North in New Hope.
Necessary Daily Supplies for in person learning at RMS:
  1. your clean mask on (and a back-up mask in your bag, just in case!)
  2. your FULLY charged Chromebook - be sure to charge it every night!
  3. a water bottle - we have a water bottle refill fountain that we can use
  4. your binder or folder/s
  5. pencils, pens
  6. backpack or bag

Parent Teacher Advisory Committee

Next Meeting Date: Tuesday, April 13th 6:00 pm-7:00 pm

RMS Parent Teacher Advisory Council (PTAC) NEEDS YOU!

Our next virtual meeting is this Tuesday, April 13th from 6:00 pm-7:00 pm. A google meets link will be sent to you on April 13th. The RMS PTAC is a wonderful group of parents and teachers who work hard together for our students. We are in desperate need of more parents because our current ones will be transitioning to high school.

In order for our students and staff to continue receiving support from our PTAC, we need more parents to take the baton and keep our wonderful organization viable. I have included our position descriptions below, in hope that you will consider joining and co-sharing some responsibilities. We have short monthly meetings, and really collaborate to share the work! Please help our PTAC. We would like to select new members for positions at our April and May meetings, and look forward to seeing you!

Quarter 2 Honors recognitions!

We loved celebrating our Honor Roll students in their Recognition presentation during Advisory during the week of March 22-26!
Honors certificates are awarded each quarter when a student's Grade Point Average is 3.0 or above.

RMS Media Center

Our Media Center Team has assisted 110 students in March with technology issues - right at their classroom door - with their Tech Help Cart.

This safety measure helps us with Covid19 protocol in school, and the additional benefit has been that these 110 students never missed a moment of academic instruction as their technology issue was resolved!

RMS is Offering 2 Spring Sports for All Students in grades 6-8

RMS is excited to be planning a Spring Spirit Week!
If you have ideas for our themed days or other ways we can share our school spirit, please bring your ideas to your RMS Advisory teacher!
