Join Aiping Tai Chi Center at Lunarfest, Connecticut's largest lunar new year celebration, on Saturday, February 16. Lunarfest is a celebration of the Lunar New Year and Chinese culture, offering free arts and cultural programs for adults and children throughout the city of New Haven and at Yale.

We are CANCELLING CLASSES that morning to encourage our students to participate in the festivities. Join us for the following:

10am - 11am: Parade down Whitney Avenue (from Grove Street to Audubon Street). Aiping Tai Chi Center will march with the International Association of New Haven. If you plan on marching in the parade, meet us at 9am inside Yale University's International Center, located at 421 Temple Street for a light breakfast before we go out to march.

Demonstrations and workshops inside New Haven Museum, 2nd floor Ballroom, located at 114 Whitney Avenue:

1:45pm - 2:15pm: Heath Qigong. Join us in a family friendly Animal Qigong class where we we will embody the spirit and movements of animals such as tiger, deer, bear, monkey, crane, rooster, and goose.

2:15pm - 3:00pm: Tai Chi. T wo different styles of Tai Chi will be presented. Aiping Tai Chi Center will present Yang style Tai Chi. Our colleague, Jon Mroz ,will present a form called Yik Sao, created by Hung Gar master Chui Wai which combines Tai Chi with Hung Gar kung fu movements. If you plan on being in our school tai chi demonstration (10 Form), please wear the new white and green tai chi demonstration uniform or white silks.
