Stuff That Messes With Your Hormones!

  3. Polycarbonates - Bisphenol A has found its job in the building blocks of plastic. 6 billion pounds of BPA are made annually and it appears in the blood of 93% of Americans age 6+.  It's the only molecule that binds to the 3 major classes of hormones; and it doesn't take much to send body levels soaring.  In fact, you don't have to have a particularly large exposure to environmental estrogens like BPA to have an effect.  To protect yourself, stay away from BPA.  If you do use, don't put them in the mirowave or dishwasher.  It's best to stay away from BPA's, using glass or ceramic.  Babies are at even greater risk. 
  4. Meat - Hormones in meat are contributing to earlier puberty in girls.  Because meat is injected with hormones, when you eat this it gets absorbed into your body.  Consider going organic with regards to your meat and dairy products.
