Coyote Moon was founded in 1989 under a business model that celebrated the collective creativity of its employees. This has been especially true throughout the changes our store has seen in recent months. At the helm of these changes is a new owner and store manager.
Lisa Fagin (Owner)
Lisa purchased Coyote Moon in November 2021, after first visiting the store as a customer 8 years prior. Each time she visited Belfast, Coyote Moon was the one store she always made sure to visit. When she learned the boutique was for sale, she was thrilled by the opportunity to make Coyote Moon a larger part of her life.
She brings years of restaurant and retail experience with her, both at specialty women’s boutiques and multi-million dollar stores. Her background in customer service and love of clothes, purses, and jewelry make owning a boutique of her own a natural fit.
She has been loving being at the store every day and shopping for new products to offer. “It’s thrilling for me,” she shared. “I try to bring in new items that are different and exciting, and aren’t available anywhere else. My hope is when somebody comes in and sees something in the store, that it’s as exciting for them as it was for me when I bought it.”
Emily Wilson (Store Manager)
Emily comes to Coyote Moon with experience in mixed media art and textiles. She has worked in galleries and has a small design business specializing in hand-printed and digitally printed wearables. Her background is a hybrid of museum studies, retail, and customer service.
Coyote Moon spoke to her aesthetically and has been an incredible opportunity for her to learn more about clothing, merchandising, and working with accessories.
“It has been truly special to apply my knowledge of color and patterning to help customers discover different possibilities, even if they’re not quite sure what they’re looking for,” she explained.
Emily grew up in Southern Maine and has an affinity for the midcoast Maine region. She is particularly fond of the eclectic and lively mix of people in the Belfast area and is excited to experience the lively summer months in downtown Belfast.
