Black History Summer Academy hosts students
for week-long program
The Black History Summer Academy celebrates the local and global contributions of persons of African descent through its instruction and activities.

Nearly 200 students are engaged in a week-long look at African American history and historic contributions to the Springfield community.

SPS offers free breakfast and lunch at 20 sites
This summer, Springfield Public Schools is offering free breakfast and lunch to any child 18 and under, accompanied by an adult, through July 15, 2022. Adults, over the age of 18, may pay $2.45 for breakfast, and $4.05 for lunch.

Volunteer for the Back to School Bash July 30

Help Springfield families be ready to learn at the Back to School Bash Saturday, July 30, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is a volunteer event. Employees who choose to volunteer will not be compensated for their time.
Free physicals available to SPS students

CoxHealth CARE Mobile is offering multiple opportunities in June and July for students to receive a physical required to participate in school sports and activities. The CARE Mobile will visit all five SPS high schools.

SPS celebrates Juneteenth

On Saturday, June 18, the Springfield community will gather and participate in a nationwide celebration which will be hosted at Silver Springs Park.
