Explore kicks off with 9,400 students enrolled in summer fun
More students are learning this summer in the SPS program.

More than 700 incoming kindergartners are preparing for the upcoming school year during Explore, with experiences created just for them.
Mallory paraprofessional Zach Omans receives Citizen Service Medal
Zachary Omans received the Citizen Service Medal, the highest honor awarded to a citizen, for displaying an act of bravery and/or courage while assisting the Springfield Police Department in his home.
Ability Awareness Day teaches students importance
of celebrating others
Hickory Hills Elementary School held an Ability Awareness Day on May 17 to teach students in first through fifth grades how people are more alike than different.

SPS energy program earns Cenergistic's Best-in-Class recognition

SPS achieved 32 percent energy reduction-- the equivalent of taking 10,000 cars off the road.
Pediatric COVID-19 clinics provide boosters for students ages 5-11

Students ages 5 to 11 have the opportunity to receive a COVID-19 booster shot at upcoming Pediatric Clinics: June 15 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Westport and June 16 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Hickory Hills. Any student who receives a first or second dose or a first booster can receive a $50 gift card.
