Masks and Social Distancing...
Numerous sources report a recent increase in the incidence of COVID-19 and Delta Variant on Oahu. Based on the most recent guidelines from the CDC, properly worn masks will still be strongly urged and encouraged inside the building during our Sunday Celebration Service. We will resume taking measures to be equipped for contact tracing. All in attendance will be registered.
We are not limiting attendance. Hold a vision with us that this, too, shall pass. We ask that you join us in prayer to imagine and envision infection rates declining and soon ceasing.
If you are not feeling well or if you are running a fever, please stay home and take very good care of yourself and your loved ones. Wash your hands regularly, sanitize your surroundings and please avoid high-risk crowds and activities. The CDC reports that vaccinated people run a significantly lower risk of severe illness than those unvaccinated.

FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT

Advent is a time-honored tradition persisting throughout many centuries of Christianity. Beyond traditions and throughout the whole world, an end to the shortening of the day’s light is commemorated. Many of us celebrate the return of the Sun. A tenacious faith has held up the traditions of Christmas throughout the past 2 years. Although a significant shift took place for many of us during these times, we could still count on the return of the light. Our traditions may be a little closer to normal this year, and new ones may be $owing forth. Yet, the past couple of years of recent history has given us reason to restore our faith in the spirit of Christmas. Filled with anticipation, we’ll keep faith in God’s eternal goodness. In this time of hope and faith, we can expect and anticipate more light through the day, as we embody the Presence of Christ-light for us all. Join us this Sunday with faith and hope in the Presence.

REVERSE ADVENT CALENDAR
Once again in 2021 Unity Windward is participating in “The Reverse Advent Calendar.”
This program helps to make
generous donations to the local food bank. You are requested to gather an item each day from the list. Just before Christmas, we ask that you bring those items in a box to then be later delivered to our local food bank. We can begin gathering the items and the boxes on November 28. You can add nonperishable items to a box in the days and weeks before Christmas.

Add a non-perishable food item to the box every day from Thanksgiving until December 19. By that time we will have a container full of 24 items by Christmas… Bring boxes to the church. We will arrange to have them delivered right before Christmas. |

The Women’s Breakfast is back on track. The Safe Access Oahu program requires proof of vaccine or a negative test result in order to enter a restaurant on Oahu. Hawai’i Governor Ige and Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi announced this program to take effect on September 10.
