We will explore the first Unity principle in Ellen Debenport's book entitled, The Five Principles. Our time together will be an adventure of discovering the depth of this principle, how it applies to our lives, and tools for enriching our experience of God.

Rev. Belinda Isaac Lightheart
Rev. Belinda Isaac Lightheart was introduced to Unity by a dear friend and co-worker in the seventies. She began her Unity church affiliations at Unity Church of Austin and her spiritual journey
included studying many paths over a number of years while consistently being drawn back to the teachings of Unity.
Over time, she found herself learning to be a Unity prayer chaplain trainer and serving in that capacity for a number of years. During that time, she also retired from her thirty-four year career with the Federal government and completed the Licensed Unity Teacher program.
She was licensed as a Unity minister in May of this year and is interning with Rev Tony Roebuck at Unity in the Heart of Texas as she moves toward ordination in May of 2018.
She also serves as the facilitator for the Wednesday evening service at her home church, Unity Church of the Hills, in Austin Texas, teaches Unity classes, and leads a variety of sacred services. She enjoys spending time with her friends and her cats, creating artful expressions, serving in South Africa and working in her gardens.

Small group ministries have been the backbone of megachurches to both attract and maintain both millennials and all age groups! This is there is still time to sign up for your Spirit Group! All three groups are being led by trained hosts and is based on the five spiritual disciplines. This first 10-week series curriculum is The Five Principles, authored by Reverend Ellen Debenport. All are welcome to join these weekly meetings in casual settings to interact with and discuss the Sunday message and video based curriculum. Spirit Groups offer a structure for delivering our mission of transforming lives, as well as providing paths for those spiritual explorers to enter our Unity teachings from the groups or walking into the center. Also, they support leadership development, spiritual growth, community and effective church growth. Our Program Leader, Dawn Gardiner, and the hosts will be available this Sunday to answer questions and sign up all! Come check it out!

Celebrating YOU! Happy Birthday!
Is your birthday in October? Then we want to celebrate you!
The first Sunday of the month is when we traditionally celebrate all who have a birthday. We ask that everyone bring a potluck dish to the kitchen area before our Sunday service.
Immediately after the service, we invite all to
enjoy birthday cake and a delicious potluck dinner. If you forgot to bring something, no worries, there's always enough to go around. We also want to celebrate our guest speaker this Sunday, Rev. Belinda Lightheart!

Freecycle Sunday, October 1st
Unity Spiritual Center Corpus Christi is an earth friendly spiritual community. One of the ways we demonstrate this is by holding a Freecycle Sunday the first Sunday of the month!
We
promote
recycling
by
offering
one another
unwanted
items
free
of
charge. We invite you to bring anything you don't need or use anymore to our potluck, and check out what others bring. Feel free to take something home. Chances are your item will find a new home, but if not, please note we ask you to take it back home with you.
