This Sunday, following Mass:

This Sunday, we will place the statue of Lady of Fatima on a flower-laden float by the altar and we will crown her as Queen of Heaven and Earth. The actual crowning will be done by two of our First Communicants.

And then following Mass, we will process her around our neighborhood, a visible sign of our love for her and our grateful proclamation of her role as our mother and our Mediatrix of Grace.

The crowning and the procession are our tribute to Mary as Queen of Heaven and Earth and of our lives. We entrust all our intentions to her, and she takes them to her Son, who is our Lord and King.

In 1987, the "Order of Crowning an Image of the Blessed Virgin Mary" was published by the National Conference of Catholic Bishops (NCCB), now the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

This document provides a framework for the May crowning tradition, where a statue or image of Mary is crowned with flowers to honor her as Queen of Heaven. The order offers guidance on how to incorporate this custom into Mass, Evening Prayer, or a celebration of the Word of God.

The May crowning tradition is deeply rooted in Catholic devotion to Mary and her role as the Mother of God and Queen of Heaven.

WHAT IS A LIFE IN THE SPIRIT SEMINAR?

A Life-in-the-Spirit Seminar (LSS) consists of a series of talks designed to help people realize the power of the Holy Spirit that is available for every aspect of their lives.

Most of us have heard about the Holy Spirit and most of us have learned about the Holy Spirit, but many times that is as far as our experience has gone.

The Holy Spirit is a real person, a part of the Blessed Trinity just like Jesus and the Father. We receive the Holy Spirit through the Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation. Through what is called the baptism in the Holy Spirit, a personal conversion experience, the power that is the Holy Spirit is released within us.
