Sermon Series Continues Sunday

When we look at the life of Jesus, we find that he was not in a rush. Jesus didn't get frustrated with waiting, and no matter where he was, he was totally present. This Sunday, we wrap up our sermon series, "Getting Rid of Hurry," with a look at how we can strive to be more like Jesus, slow down, and connect with him. Charge Conference

You're invited to join us in the sanctuary next Wednesday, October 26th, at 6 p.m. as we gather for Charge Conference. We will be celebrating the God sightings in our ministry from the past year, and sharing our upcoming hopes for our next season of ministry.

Men's Retreat is Back!

The United Methodist Men are hosting a new retreat event November 11-12, 2022 at the Boxwell reservation in Lebanon, Tenn. We invite all men, college-age and above to join us for fellowship and fun, as we unpack the seven virtues of manhood from Mark Batterson’s “Play The Man.”  Scan the QR code above to register.

Get Your Butterbraid Orders In!

Our United Methodist Women are selling Butterbraid pastries again this fall, and the order deadline is fast approaching.

These arrive frozen, so you can prepare and share at your leisure. There are eight varieties and sell for $17 each. Proceeds help fund our UMW missions locally, nationally, and internationally. Autumn Bake Sale Time!

The United Methodist Women will be selling baked goods on the front lawn next weekend, at the pumpkin patch, from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. There will not be a bake sale this weekend. 

Glow Party for HFUMC Kids

HFUMC Kids ages Pre-K (3-5 years) through 6th Grade are invited to come "Light Up the Night (for Jesus)" with a Kids Glow Party on Sunday, October 30th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Kids are encouraged to wear their boldest neon or glow in the dark outfit, but we ask that children not wear Halloween costumes. The church will provide glow items, dinner, snacks, and a "glowing" good time! 

News from the Education Committee to Discern the Way Forward

The 12  member Education Committee to Discern the Way Forward (ECDWF) continues to meet and make progress on the best way to start educating the leadership of the church. The Committee is working to establish a group of informed leaders (Council of Stewards, Sunday School Presidents, and small group leaders) who can assist in executing the processes laid out by the ECWDF. A full summary of the meeting will be made available in a church-wide email coming today.

The ECDWF formed in August 2022 to provide factual, unbiased information to our congregation about the issues currently facing the UMC, while also providing constructive forums for congregants to ask questions and initiate in prayerful dialogue together.
