Phased Re-Gathering Update

On Tuesday afternoon Bishop Ough sent out a note to all Minnesota United Methodist Churches informing us that the conference has returned to the orange phrase in their COVID response. The conference is asking churches to do their best to dial back and limit in-person gatherings to 10 people or fewer while wearing masks and maintaining social distancing. Group gatherings have been the most significant source of the spread of COVID-19 in recent weeks. At the very minimum, they are requesting that we adhere to the governor's guidelines and closely watch the data in our community. Read the full email from Bishop Ough by clicking here.

Grace staff and leaders met on Tuesday evening to discuss what this means for our congregation. We decided to proceed with our weekend trunk or treat event and in-person worship on Sunday, November 1 but are going to further encourage attendees to come and go quickly while remaining six feet or more apart. At this meeting we also agreed that we must be prepared to change course as our community health officials and local school districts make changes. Currently, as this e-grace newsletter is being edited, our local schools are adjusting their in-person learning plans by having all students go into full distance learning. The leadership team will be meeting again as needed to further discuss how Grace should respond to the request of the conference and how to adjust our in-person gatherings.

Remember the church is not closed! We ask that you continue to pray for Grace, for our church family, and for all those who are making difficult decisions about how to best safely care for the community. Although we acknowledge the pain and disappointment that comes from rethinking church we are confident that God is working through this. We invite all to have a creative spirit about how we can best worship, study, and grow at Grace while following safety protocols. There is a great opportunity to shine a light and help heal our world during this time. May we all proceed with love for our neighbor.

Ladies of Grace: Small Group Opportunity
We will be offering a new small group opportunity this November. Some of you have may be searching for direction and answers for how to live more fully for God. This strive for meaning hits a little differently when the days of raising a family and navigating the workforce are in the rearview mirror, and may have been for a while. We will be using the book 'Growing Older, Growing Wiser'. It examines how the Bible can help you find the unique opportunities available to believers later in life. Our aim is to keep this group small, so there are limited spots available, please speak to Pastor Jen for details and to sign up.

*If you have an idea for a group, We would love to help you make it happen! Contact Pastor Jen ( for assistance!
