Worship at the Kirk
Homecoming Sunday
September 13
10:00 a.m.
Come home to worship (in-person or online)! There will be no registration required for our “whole campus” Garden Worship using the garden, sanctuary (simulcast), and refectory (simulcast).
It will be “first come, first served” with 100 people in the garden, 50 people in the sanctuary, and 30 people in the refectory. Online worship options will continue through our website, Facebook, and Kirk West (Fox Run) television broadcast.

God of grace and God of glory, on this anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 9/11, grant us the wisdom to remember the lessons from that tragic day that make us more Christ-like. Drive away from us any vengeful urges, any hate-filled sentiment, any whisper from within or without that goads us to return evil for evil.

Baptism Sundays
Private baptism services will be held on Sundays, September 20 and November 29, at 11:30 a.m. If you have a child to be baptized, please contact Jen Morris at jmorris@kirkinthehills.org or (248) 973-8011 to register. Please note: Some families may be required to take a one-hour Preparing for Baptism class prior to the baptism service.

Garden Guild volunteers are needed to plant on Saturday, September 26 at 9:00 a.m.
Rain date: Sunday, September 27 at 2:00 p.m.

Adult Formation
All you have to do is click on any of the Zoom links during the specified date/time either on your computer or phone from the comfort of your home, and you’ll be able to zoom into a Bible study or a small group!

Children (age 4 – Grade 5) are invited to Sunday School, which will take place via Zoom on Sundays at 10:15 a.m.
Sunday school home packets for the month of September are available to pick up at Homecoming this Sunday, as well as throughout the week in the Welcome Center.

Birmingham/Bloomfield CROP Hunger Walk
On Sunday, September 27, we will walk to fight hunger and the COVID-related need both in our community and around the world.
In this year’s pandemic edition, Team Kirk will walk Together in Spirit. Gather your friends, kids, and dogs for a fun CROP Walk in your own neighborhood or join others to walk around the Kirk campus with masks and social distancing.

Yoga By the Lake
Wednesdays
6:30–7:30 p.m.
New Time for September! All are welcome—beginners and experienced! Bring a mat, blanket or towel, and a water bottle.
Each participant will select a socially distanced spot on the lawn in the garden behind the church. We are asking that a donation be made to our yoga instructors who are so graciously giving of their time to help them financially while their yoga studio is closed due to the pandemic. A donation basket will be made available.

In Memoriam
Jack Withrow died on August 28. A private memorial service was held on Saturday, September 5.
Ken Pardonnet died on August 24. Service information is not available at this time.
Linda Kalellis, a former Kirk Choir Staff Singer, passed away on August 28. She is survived by her beloved husband, Barry, of 35 years. She is also survived by their son Robin Kalellis of New York City.
In Celebration
Abigail Brinks and Tyler Nasrey were married on August 29.
