Have you wondered how you and your loved ones will celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas this year while isolating from the pandemic? What if you had an opportunity to learn how to practice thanksgiving and God’s incarnation not only on those two days but everyday of your life, even in the worst of times? Well, here is your invitation to learn from best selling author Ann Voskamp. Through her writing of One Thousand Gifts, you will drink from the well of beauty, goodness, and truth. I look forward to hosting the Adult Forum beginning on November 1 at 12:30. For five consecutive Sundays we will gather the inspirations from our readings of the book and the gifts in our lives. All you need to do is buy the book, do the amount of homework that you are able, sign into zoom at 12:30 each Sunday, and prepare to have your life transformed, even in the midst of a pandemic. Also, I want to thank Doug and Harriet Brodie for recommending this magnificent book.

2021 Stewardship Campaign
As faithful stewards, we are called to manage God’s resources: time, talent, money, people and possessions. Stewardship is simply caring for something that doesn’t belong to us. How we manage these precious gifts is the question. The Stewardship Team this year asks you to look prayerfully and thoughtfully at your gifts. Some you have earned by your own labor. Many more have been given to you.

Please consider setting up a recurring donation through your bank. This reduces our fees and 100% of your donation supports the ministry of the church.

You can download a pledge card or set up your monthly pledge online using the pledge card.

Mail: Our address is 300 N. Main, Temple Texas, 76501.

The Diocese has developed a list of resources for the 2020 election. And don't forget to sign up for Forward Movement's A Season of Prayer: For An Election.

Presiding Bishop Michael Curry will lead a live-streamed prayer service from Washington National Cathedral, Holding on to Hope: A National Service for Healing and Wholeness, on All Saints Sunday, November 1, at 4:00-5:30 p.m. EST. In the midst of pandemic, racial reckoning, and a historic election, the live-streamed service will gather Americans for prayer, song, lament, hope, and a call to love God and neighbor. Bishop Doyle has written a new book. In the book, Bishop Andy Doyle offers a Christian virtue ethic grounded in fresh anthropology. He offers a vision of the individual Christian within the reign of God and the life of the broader community. He adds to the conversation in both church and culture by offering a renewed theological underpinning to the complex nature of Christianity in a post-modern world. Buy the book using Amazon's Smile program and when you choose Christ Church as your charity, the church will get a percentage of the sales.
