There is always something for everyone at this free, family-friendly event, including music, art, tours, clothing swap, volunteer fair, breakdancing, and so much more. Waterfront Walking Tours
New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center, 38 Bethel Street
Celebrate summer in the seaport by taking a free walking tour of New Bedford’s working waterfront!
On this 60-minute walking tour, you will learn about:
- different types of fishing vessels and gear
- the history of the seafood auction and other essential shoreside businesses
- the historic Seamen’s Bethel
- unique experience of fishing families, and more!
Tours depart from Fishing Heritage Center at 5:00 pm, 6:00 pm, and 7:00 pm.

DATMA Design Day: Eco Art & "I Spy"
YMCA Lawn, Union St & S 2nd St, 5:00–7:00 pm
Join DATMA for a creative hands-on workshop on the YMCA lawn, where kids and families can explore the importance of recycling and waste reduction, all while transforming discarded plastics into eco-friendly masterpieces. You can also pick up and play the custom “I Spy” game for Bordalo II’s Plastic Rooster sculpture!

Beyond the Star Store: More Than Just a Building
The Star Gallery, 65 William St, 5:00–8:00 pm
For 23 years, the Star Store served as the home of the CVPA and a cultural hub in New Bedford.
This exhibition features artwork from alumni working across mediums in memory of the legacy and the community fostered by the Star Store. Be sure to stop by the opening reception on AHA! Night.

AHA! Seaport Sessions: Roots Run Wild
Salt & Sole, 30 N Water St, 6:00–7:00 pm
Roots Run Wild strikes the perfect balance between sweetness and ferocity with their blend of unique instrumentation, robust styling, and powerful vocals, creating a distinct flavor seasoned by Americana, bluegrass, reggae, and folk music while frequently sneaking into pop territory with their catchy melodies and hooks.
Known for their vocal teamwork, singer-songwriters KT Lee and Kelly Ann Fernandes use music to explore the challenges of finding your own way, healing from trauma, personal growth, relationships, and developing a rich inner life and sense of self, always expressing a love of music itself and its incredible restorative power.
Our AHA! Seaport Sessions host this month is Salt & Sole, purveyors of coastal inspired decor, gifts and apparel!

5 Pillars of Hip Hop: Breakdancing
Whaling Museum Plaza, 18 Johnny Cake Hill, 5:00–7:30 pm
Join 3rdEyE Youth Empowerment for the latest installment of their series, The 5 Pillars of Hip Hop, which educates and demonstrates the history of Hip Hop music. This month will highlight the art of breakdancing featuring live breakdancing demos, a DJ, interactive activities, and a fashion show by Tour Lords at 6:00 pm.
