Mary Alvord, PhD

Dr. Mary Karapetian Alvord is a psychologist with more than 35 years of clinical experience and is director of Alvord, Baker & Associates. She specializes in treating children, adolescents, and adults using cognitive behavior therapies. She is adjunct associate professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Fellow of both the American Psychological Association and of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, she is also a Clinical Fellow of the Anxiety and Depression Association of America. She is co-author of Conquer Negative Thinking for Teens, Resilience-Builder Program, and audio recordings, Relaxation and Self-Regulation Techniques for Children and Teens and Relaxation and Wellness Techniques (for adults).
Shane Owens, PhD, ABPP

Dr. Shane Owens is a board-certified behavioral and cognitive psychologist and an authority on college mental health and suicide prevention. He specializes in the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders in young adults and parents. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the American Board of Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology. Dr. Owens uses mainstream and social media to disseminate evidence-based practices and to educate and empower the public. He contributes to US News Health, ShrinkTank.com and Fatherly.
