Easter, also known as Resurrection Sunday, is the day we celebrate Christ’s death-destroying resurrection from the grave. Easter is the day we celebrate Christ’s triumphant victory over the grave. Easter is the day we celebrate Christ’s divine power to overcome hate, horror, and hell. Like Mary Magdalene on that very first Easter Sunday, we joyously run to all who will hear and jubilantly declare that the stone has been rolled away, the tomb is empty, and the living is no longer among the dead.
Come, let us worship the living and resurrecting God. Come, let us worship the living and risen Savior. Come, let us worship the living and renewing Spirit. Come, let us worship!
Our scripture this week comes from Luke 24:1-12

If you use your mobile device to give your tithes and offerings to Cross Roads, you'll need to install the Vanco Mobile App.
A reminder: If your giving comes by check, please expect a slight delay in your bank account deduction. A growing number of tithes and offerings now come to us electronically, so our money counters only meet every other Monday to deposit cash and checks. Until then, all gifts wait patiently in our church safe.

Judith Hunter
Moore Beaudette
Judith Hunter Moore Beaudette, daughter of Lewis and Mabel Moore passed peacefully on March 22nd at the age of 82. She leaves daughters Deborah (David) Reuterman and Lisa Beaudette; grandchildren Kayla, Jacob, Abby, Elizabeth, Jada, and Emma; brother Buddy (Marilyn) Moore; nephew Hunter and his three children Sage, Michael and Lucy.
Judy was raised in Ruther Glen, VA and loved country living. She entered nursing school out of high school and later joined the US Air Force. She spent 11 years traveling the world in the Air Force before settling in Phoenix to raise her daughters. Though Phoenix became her adopted home, nothing matched her love for Ruther Glen. She traveled back to Virginia at every opportunity and nurtured a deep connection for her daughters with her home. In Phoenix, Judy spent 32 years as a NICU nurse for Phoenix Children’s Hospital. She loved taking care of God's most fragile children and in that time she learned that death was nothing to fear. Judy was an active member of both St Paul’s UMC in Ruther Glen and Cross Roads UMC in Phoenix. She devoted her life to God and believed deeply in the Methodist philosophy to do all the good you can for all the people you can for as long as you can. Her home was always open to those who needed a place to live and a warm meal from Mom Beaudette. She taught her daughters that family is defined by those you love and those who love you. From her years in the Air Force through her years in the NICU her impact was significant and our loss is great. We are comforted, however, in the knowledge that she crossed without fear, confident in love and excited to reunite with Jesus.
For friends and family in Phoenix, a memorial service will be held on May 31st at 10am at Cross Roads UMC. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Paul’s UMC, Cross Roads UMC or Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

My Neighbor's Voice is starting up this summer. As the heat rerises, we need to have indoor activities. Listening to each other share our stories about topics such as:
Our Society, Our Spiritual Life, Civil Rights and Responsibilities, Our Society and Political Thoughts.
We gather in person at Cross Roads or in our home to listen to each other. There isn't any discussion. This is a listening exercise that will help understand each other. We keep it civil.
The session is about 90 minutes.
If you are interested, text Jim Stephens 480-567-8420 or email at stephens.jim.a@gmal.com
