This Wednesday, February 1, I am hosting a community discussion focusing on refugee and recent immigrant programs and services in District 3 and across Prince George's County.

Community Discussion
Wednesday, February 1, 7:00 - 8:30pm
Center for Educational Partnership
6200 Sheridan Street, Riverdale
Near William Wirt Middle School, at the intersection of Sheridan St. and 62nd Place

After hearing from several constituents about their feelings of compassion and concern for these vulnerable populations, I engaged local resettlement organizations, social service providers, and nonprofits to join me on February 1 to share what is happening locally and how our community members can be involved and supportive.

I am incredibly grateful to the following organizations for joining us:

The organizations will have displays/information set up by 6:45pm and attendees are welcome to arrive early.  From 7:10 - 8:00 pm organization representatives will provide short overviews of their services and information about how you can engage in supporting their work. We will also hear from a recent refugee settled nearby. From 8:00 - 8:30 pm we will have time for mingling and networking so that you can talk one-on-one or in small groups with the organization representatives.

Parking is available at the Center for Educational Partnership, in the surrounding community, or at William Wirt Middle School, just down the hill from the CEP. I will provide light refreshments.

Thank you in advance for joining us. Please feel free to share this invitation widely.
