Yom Ha'Zikaron & Yom Ha'atzmaut
Our students marked Yom Ha'Zikaron and celebrated Yom Ha'atzmaut this week. We began Tuesday morning by gathering as a school body to lower the Israeli flag to half staff in honor of fallen soldiers and civilian victims of terror. That night, we were joined by the greater Dallas Jewish community for a moving family program of remembrance that beautifully transitioned into a jubilant 75th birthday party for the State of Israel.
Early Childhood Chaverim students wave flags to celebrate Yom Ha’atzmaut.

Early Childhood Hebrew Immersion Teacher Orit Leitman writes: "We did an imaginative army training with the kids. We told them they are soldiers who have to protect Israel. They took it very seriously. They carried Israeli soldiers on a little bed and they were very careful not to drop the injured soldier."
‘ ... They Gave Us Life’
Our 4th/5th Grade students explored an interactive memorial for fallen heroes of Jewish freedom. The age-tailored program was created by The Ronis — our seemingly tireless Bnot Sherut — under the supervision of K-8 Israel and Program Coordinator Sarit Sabo.
