Beacon and Beyond Exhibit
Reception Saturday, 5-7pm

HPL is pleased to present the exhibit, Beacon and Beyond.
Organized by local artists Jean Noack and Jan Dolan, the exhibit features paintings and photographs that explore the the colors and textures of Beacon and the Hudson Valley.

We're extra excited that Peter McGivney, reference librarian and prolific photographer will be one of the photographers featured in this show!

Exhibiting artists include Markie Baylash, Jennifer Blakeslee, Jan Dolan, Cindy Gould, Marianne Loach, Peter McGivney, Jean Noack, Michelle Rivas and Anna West. The exhibit will be on view in The Community Room Exhibit Space from May 5th - May 31st. An artists' reception will be held on Saturday, May 12th from 5-7 pm.

Upcoming Programs for Adults
An Afternoon of Music 
with John DeRosalia
Saturday, May 12th, 1-2pm

Join local musician, John DeRosalia, for an afternoon of standards, soft rock, jazz, blues, and original compositions. Mr. DeRosalia is a guitarist, singer and songwriter.

Hear such favorites as "A Change is Gonna Come" by Sam Cooke and "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel, along with many original tunes. Free admission, no registration required.
Youth Programs
Lego/Tech Club
Thursdays, 3:30-5pm

A place for elementary school-age children to work collaboratively or independently to build fantastic Lego creations and tinker with our STEM materials (littleBits, robots, etc.). You can even combine them!
Adults with younger children may build with Duplos/Legos in the children's area. This FREE program is a drop-in and does not require registration.

Tween & Teen Programs
High School Writing Lab
1st & 3rd Wednesdays, 3-4pm

Need help with college essays or other writing assignments? Starting on 4/18, high school students can stop by the Writing Lab after school on first and third Wednesdays. Facilitator, Jess Conway, an instructor at Teachers College, will be available to provide support, assistance, and encouragement for students in grades 9-12 at work on school or personal writing projects and college essays.

Art & Zine Club
Friday, May 18th, 3:30-5pm

Calling all artists and cartoonists! Meet up with other Beacon area creative teens to draw and makes some zines. What's a Zine? Zines are DIY self published art books and magazines. Different types of zines and art making techniques are introduced each month. Artists can work independently or collaboratively.
Find out about our June field trip to SUNY New Paltz at this month's meeting.
