SUNDAY SERVICE WITH THE REV. MELANIE WEINER.  Sermon By The Stream.  Scriptures:  1 Corinthians 13:1-13, Psalm 1. Music:Joyful Noise Handbell Choir, under the direction of  P.L. Grove. Anthem: Fanfare Jubilee, Jason Krug.

CHILDREN'S PROGRAM. Children and youth age 3 through 12th grade are invited to join their parents for the first part of worship and gather in the front of the Sanctuary for Children's time. Children and youth will then leave with their teachers for their age-based groups in the Learning Center. 
ELEMENTARY CHOIR  will be rehearsing every Sunday through May 13 from 11:15 a.m to 11:45 a.m.  Elementary Choir will sing in church on May 20 for our season finale.

JOIN FCC SERVICE TRIP FOR A PASTA DINNER, AUCTION, AND, NEW THIS YEAR, FUN RAISING ON SUNDAY MAY 20 FROM 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m..   Please sign up for the dinner in the courtyard or by calling the church office.  If you missed the opportunity to donate to 
Rummage Sale, we can accept auctionable items for silent auction or services/experiences for live auction until May 13.  Please contact Melanie.

FUN RAISING is a new addition in which we will be offering a host of opportunities for fellowship for a nominal charge.  These will include dinners, hikes, a variety of learning opportunities, and other ways to experience fun together for a nominal donation.  These donations will be shared between the service trip and the church.  Your first opportunity to sign up for these Fun Raiser events will be at the dinner on May 20. We look forward to seeing you there!

THE RELAY FOR LIFE  for Los Altos will be at Sunnyvale Middle School from 10 am Saturday, June 2nd. You are invited to the Golden's home (565 University Avenue) on Saturday, May 26 from 5 p.m. - 8 pm to create your own messages of hope to honor a cancer survivor or in memory of one who lost the battle with cancer. We will decorate luminaria bags that will line the relay path during the hours of darkness. The MaCaJo Trio will join us to share their wonderful music during the evening. Hearty hors d' oeuvres and drinks will be served and all materials and the bags will be provided. Please let the Goldens know if you think you will attend this event so they will have enough food and materials needed:   or sign up in the courtyard. If you  are unable to attend, you can send the names of those you wish to honor to Jean - luminaria will be made for you - ACS suggests a $10 donation for each luminaria.
RELAY 4.0 - A WALK IN SUNNYVALE.   Our annual fundraiser supporting the American Cancer Society, the Silicon Valley North Relay for Life is on Saturday, June 2nd to Sunday, June 3rd.  Starting 10:00 am Saturday with the Survivor Lap, lighting the Luminaria at dusk, and finishing Sunday morning at 10:00 am.   Relocated to Sunnyvale Middle School,  1080 Mango Ave. near Mary, Remington & Fremont Aves. Please consider walking and/or making a donation. Write a check to the American Cancer Society or go to:
and select our  United We Stride  team.  If you would like a Relay t-shirt, please let Richard Moll know.  Survivors are offered a complimentary t-shirt. Since every dollar counts, would you please add an additional dollar to your donation?   Questions? Contact Richard Moll or Nikki Hensley.

CHILDREN'S ARTS CAMP is July 30 to August 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The theme this year is "Spirit!" Children entering K-6thgrade are invited to join us for daily classes in visual arts, music, movement and cooking. Registration forms are available in the church office. Contact Melissa King or Rev. Melanie Weiner for more information. You can help by sending a flyer to your friends and neighbors.

The Communications Team needs you! The C-Team's mission is to raise the public profile of FCC hopefully resulting in attracting new members. We have identified many avenues and vehicles to get the word out about FCC. We could use a few more 'scribes' to help think through and write our messages. CREATING YOUR OWN PERSONAL CARDS  with Sandra Overton meets each Monday from 10:00 a.m. to noon. All are welcome. Contact Sandra.

CHOIR REHEARSAL  is Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. If you like to sing, Foothills has a choir for you! Our 'main' chancel choir sings on the first and third Sundays, our smaller, more demanding chamber choir on the fourth Sunday, and our open-to-all folk choir on the fifth Sunday. Not every choir rehearses every Wednesday. For more information, talk with Fred Cummins. 

LECTIONARY BIBLE STUDY meets Mondays at 3:00 p.m. in the Maple Room. Rev. Melanie Weiner facilitates the discussion, focusing on the scriptures that form the theme of the next Sunday's worship and sermon. New participants are always welcome. 
JOYFUL NOISE HANDBELL CHOIR  rehearses on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. in the Meeting Room. Come and be part of this exciting and dynamic group of musicians! 
TRUTH SEEKERS   is exploring Iconic Individuals from the New Testament with a video lecture series by Dr. Amy-Jill Levine.  Join us as we learn about the Jesus and his family, the disciples, and their supporters and adversaries.  Truthseekers meets on Thursdays 11:00a.m.-12:15 p.m. in the Learning Center.  All are welcome.
