THE BOOK GROUP is meeting Tuesday, February 25 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fireside Room.  We will discuss The Girl with Seven Names: A North Korean Defector's Story , by Hyeonseo Lee and David John. Contact Ann Nelson for questions.

ASH WEDNESDAY, get your Ashes to Go between 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26 at Shoup Park (at picnic table left of the Los Altos Garden House) and visit with Pastor Chris, receive a blessing and imposition of ashes (if desired). Ash Wednesday is a Christian tradition where ashes are placed on one's forehead as an affirmation of life; it's a reminder that we are mortal. Among the ancient Hebrews, and other Middle Eastern and Asian religious traditions, the wider use of ashes indicated mourning, humility, and repentance. Ash Wednesday is the start of the season of Lent leading up to the Holy Week, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

FOOTNOTES MAILING GROUP will meet Wednesday, February 26, at 1 p.m. in the Maple Room. We would love to have your help. Contact Warren Nelson if you are available.
