SUNDAY SERVICE WITH THE REV. CHRIS BREEDLOVE. Sermon : Remembering MLK Jr. Scripture:  1 Corinthians 12: 1-11. Music :Chancel Choir, Brant Ruggles, directing. Anthem:  Many Gifts, One Spirit 

OPEN FINANCE AND OUTREACH MEETING  is Sunday, immediately after the church service in the Parish Community Hall.  The proposed 2019 budget and Outreach information will be explained.  This is a congregational meeting. We urge each member to plan to attend this important meeting.

CHILDREN'S PROGRAM AND MUSIC.  Children and youth age 3 through 12th grade are invited to join their parents for the first part of worship and gather in the front of the Sanctuary for Children's time. Children and youth will then leave with their teachers for their age-based groups in the Learning Center. The program will end at 11:15 a.m. 
ELEMENTARY CHOIR  (K through 5) rehearses from 11:15 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. in the Choir Room.

FOOTHILLS' ANNUAL MEETING AND DINNER  starts 5 p.m. next Sunday, January 27 in the Parish Community Hall. The theme this year is Live the Music in Your Soul We invite you to dress up and/or wear a hat reflecting your favorite musician, singer or group, or in clothing of your preferred genre of music or even the time period of the music you most love.  We will be serving roasted chicken, and beverages.   You are asked to bring: a side dish, salad or dessert.  Business meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. Childcare for younger kids will be provided. Sign up in the courtyard.
                           UPCOMING EVENTS

INTEREST GROUP FAIR SUNDAY  is February 10 in the Parish Community Hall after service. This is information for you and opportunities to join others in pursuing your interests. We have many groups that meet monthly within the church. We welcome  suggestions for establishing new interest groups. Questions? Talk to Judi Gentry.

OUR JUNIOR HIGH WINTER CAMP grades 6 to 8, will be on Feb. 16-18 at the Blue Theology Mission Station at the Christian Church of Pacific Grove, 442 Central Ave., Pacific Grove, half a block from the ocean. We will spend a day at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and learn about how God loves the ocean and wants us to love it better. Visit or talk to Rev. Melanie Weiner for further information.
FEB CAMP FOR HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH AND LEADERS , is the weekend of February 16 - 18. This is an annual event organized by the NCNC UCC's Youth and Outdoor Ministries. The retreat is held at Monte Toyon Camp in Aptos. Please visit or talk to Rev. Melanie Weiner to find out more.

CHILDCARE HELP WANTED.  Our nursery care providers serve on a rotating Sunday schedule depending on availability and will work for 2.5 to 3.5 hours each scheduled Sunday. Additional non-Sunday events may be available on an episodic basis.The hourly rate is $20. Visit  for more information or talk to Sandy Ruggles or Rev. Melanie Weiner.

YOUTH FELLOWSHIP meets from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. each Sunday. All youth in 6th-12th grades are encouraged to join in for conversation, games and snacks. Friends always welcome. Talk to Rev. Melanie Weiner.

LECTIONARY BIBLE STUDY meets Mondays at 3:00 p.m. in the Maple Room. Revs. Melanie Weiner and Chris Breedlove facilitate the discussion, focusing on the scriptures that form the theme of the next Sunday's worship and sermon. New participants are always welcome. 

CIRCLE OF WOMEN meets the fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. for a simple potluck and sharing. For information, talk to Irene Ogawa.

CREATING CARDS with Sandra Overton will resume meeting January 8, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. All are welcome. Talk to Sandra.

MEN'S BREAKFAST meets 8:00 a.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at the Original Pancake House on San Antonio Road. Contact Charlie Golden for more information.
FOOTHILLS' CHOIR NEEDS YOU!  Can't attend Wednesday rehearsals? Don't read music? Sing with the easy choir! Just show up at 9:15 a.m. on the first Sunday of the month in the sanctuary.

TRUTHSEEKERS meets Thursdays  at 11:00 a.m. W e will study How Jesus Became God from The Great Courses, taught by Bart Ehrman, PhD, MDiv.  This course will explore scholarly and theological views of Jesus' identity.
