We will decorate luminaria bags that will line the pathway of the relay. The MaCaJo trio will share their wonderful music during the evening. Hearty hors d' oeuvres and drinks will be served and all materials will be provided.                            NEXT SUNDAY
                               June 2, 2019
Foothills would like to celebrate all of our children, youth, and adults who are graduating or being promoted to the next school level.  If you and/or a family member are finishing up your level of school and heading for the next or out into the wide world, please let us know so that we can list you in the bulletin on Sunday, June 2nd. Please email Melanie at with the school you or your child or other family member are graduating from, the degree you are receiving if applicable, and what is next for you if you know.  We need to hear from you by Tuesday, May 28.

THE ANNUAL YOUTH DINNER AND AUCTION  is on June 8 from 5:30p.m.-8:00p.m.. Please join us for this fun evening of food and fellowship.  All proceeds support this year's youth service trip to Smith River, CA. Smith River is a small community on the coast just south of Oregon.  We will work with community groups and other congregations doing building and repair projects such as building accessibility ramps, making much needed repairs, and painting.

DAY OF DONATION  is Saturday, June 22, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We will have a Goodwill truck at Foothills where our members and friends can donate items. This will be a great way for Foothills to support the community and allow us to give back. All money goes to the Youth Service Trip and Outreach Fund. Please see the list on the kiosk as to what Goodwill does not take. If you are interested in helping organize the Day of Donation, please contact Tim Fitzgibbon at

NCNCUCC ANNUAL GATHERING at the beautiful Sonoma State University at Rohnert Park, is Thursday to Saturday, June 13-15. Interested members can choose to be part-time or full-time attendees. NCNC UCC SUMMER CAMPS  this year are scheduled between July 5th-July 27. Visit: for registration forms and information. Melanie Weiner can answer most questions about your camp.

A woman named Jen from Seaside won the car!  But you can still be a winner yourself with your donation to the American Cancer Society!

WANT TO LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE?  Then volunteer to be the featured musician in one of our church services in August or Labor Day Weekend!  There is only one opening so contact Kathryn Kim now if you or a family member would be interested.

COME JOIN OUR SOUND TEAM!  Laurel Anderson, Nikki Hensley, John Reimann and John Lathrop are looking for another team member.  We rotate Sundays.  About one Sunday a month, you would operate the Sound System control panel.  That involves pushing buttons at the right time, and twisting knobs to Ride the Gain for each speaking person, so that they're loud enough to be understood but not too loud.  We train you along a very gentle learning curve.  If you would like to contribute to the church in this interesting and engaging way, talk to anyone in our group.

YOUTH FELLOWSHIP meets from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. each Sunday.  All youth in 6th-12th grades are encouraged to join in for conversation, games and snacks. Friends are welcome. Talk to Rev. Melanie Weiner.

JOYFUL NOISE HANDBELL CHOIR. If you've ever thought about ringing with the bell choir, now would be a good time to stand up and be counted! You don't need to know anything about bells. Short-term commitments (a month at a time) welcome! If you're interested, talk with Gretchen or Fred. The bell choir rehearses most Wednesdays from 6:00until 7.30 in the meeting room.

FOOTHILLS' CHOIR NEEDS YOU!  To all the singers who don't read music, have plans Wednesday evenings or prefer to 'show up and sing'. We in the "Easy Choir" are looking for you!  We meet in the Sanctuary at 9:15 am every 1stSunday of the month. The Chancel Choir rehearses Wednesday evenings in the sanctuary. Fred Cummins can help with rehearsal schedule and answer any questions.

TRUTH SEEKERS  meets on Thursdays 11:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. We will continue with Marcus Borg's Jesus: Uncovering the Life, Teachings, and Relevance of a Religious Revolutionary. Borg will show us Jesus as a person who teaches transformation, a new way to live and be rather than a new doctrine to believe, and guide us to understand Jesus' relevance in the ancient world and today. All are welcome.
