Backpack Buddies, Birthdays and Blessings were celebrated at GLC on Wednesday. Kathy Osmundson, a.k.a. The Birthday Queen, had volunteered to pack bags and was very surprised when her family arrived just in time to help out. What a wonderful blessing you all are to each other, to GLC and to our friends receiving our Backpack Buddy bags! Happy Birthday Kathy, and thank you for helping share God's love in our world.

Summer is here! And with it comes Vacation Bible School, which we can't do without all the help and support given in various ways!

There are a ton of opportunities to help with VBS:

• Saturday, June 20 at 10:00 a.m., we will decorate the sanctuary and narthex.
• Decorating this year will include a lot of card board! So if you have any empty boxes, or extra cardboard laying around, we could use it!!
• And a number of volunteers during the week of VBS (June 22-24). Below are links to SignUps for the different things we will need for the week.

All are welcome to come help decorate, the more the merrier! Please contact Bre at bre@gilbertlutheran.org if you have any questions, or any cardboard/boxes you're willing to give for decorating.

Our youth ministry program has some new furniture thanks to the Haselhoff family. The student tables and stools will be great for VBS as well as our Sunday School program. The comfy chair will be a big hit in our youth room too. Thank you, Cass, Dee Dee, Robbie and Jimmie!

+ blessing for Marlys Christianson. Marlys, the mother of Karen Johnson, was hospitalized with heart-related health concerns. She has since been discharged and is now receiving care in a skilled nursing facility in Moorhead, Mn.

+ healing for Joan Bowles. Joan has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She had successful surgery yesterday and will return home today.

+ healing for Jim Clark. Jim will have rotator cuff surgery this Friday.
