We want to make everyone aware of staff scheduling in the next few weeks. Sharon will be out of the office August 5th - 19th. Pastor Christian will be out of the office from August 10 - 19th.

During these absences, Bre will be available at GLC on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. She will also be checking the office emails and phone messages.

A Les & Barb Licklider Scholarship was recently awarded to GLC student, Ella Henningsen.  

   

Ella attends the University of Iowa and is the daughter of Beth and Brent Henningsen.  Her essay in the link below describes important life skills she’s learning during her post-secondary education. 

Barb Licklider generously funds on-going scholarships for student pursuing any type of post-secondary education who are/were active members of Gilbert Lutheran Church when they graduated from high school.  The eligibility for the scholarship supports the values Barb and her late husband Les hold dear. Students are eligible for two $750 awards.  For more information about the Les & Barb Licklider Scholarship, please contact the church office.

Kirsten and Clay Cook are renewing their wedding vows!

+ blessing for Sara & Tracy Harbacheck. Sara and Tracy celebrate their 40^th wedding anniversary this coming Sunday.

+ comfort for the family and friends of Betty Vannoy. Betty, the mother of Steve Vannoy, passed away August 1. A celebration of life, visitation and lunch are scheduled for September 12.

+ healing for Jef Hadaway. Jef begin oral chemotherapy and radiation treatments yesterday. After six weeks of treatment and a two-week break, he will begin a four-month course of IV chemotherapy.

+ healing for Charlotte Keller. Charlotte returned home last week after hip surgery at Mary Greeley Medical Center in July and recovery days at Northridge Village. 

+ thanksgiving and continued healing for Peggy Drennan. Peggy completed her course of radiation treatment and rang the bell last week at the William R. Bliss Cancer Center.

+ healing for Larry McHone. Larry had a benign growth in his neck and vocal cord area removed recently. He is recovering well and will continue with routine follow-up appointments.
