GLC’s fall schedule resumes on this Sunday. Please take note of the opportunities, times and changes. See below for information specific to Sunday. | | |
Pictured above is the design of the backpack tag we’ll hand out during our Blessing. The tag is certainly for children, students, teachers and school staff, but IT’S ALSO FOR EVERYBODY! Wherever we spend our days, we all need the same reminders: BE LOVED. BE KIND. BE YOU.
So, one and all, bring your backpack, school bag, work bag or whatever you carry through your day. We’ll send one another out remembering that we are loved, called to kindness and free to be the people God created us to be.

Our GLC Family assembled cookie assortments after worship on Sunday and then shared them with friends in our communities who worked on Labor Day and throughout the holiday weekend.
Deliveries were made to Accura Health Care of Ames, Ames Fire Station 1, Angelos III (Dixon, IL), Bethany Life (Story City), Casey’s Gilbert, Casey’s Nevada, Casey’s North Ames, Casey’s Lincoln Way, construction workers, Dog Eared Books, Fairfield Inn (Dixon, IL), Hy-Vee Downtown, ISU Police, Mary Greeley Medical Center 6th Floor, Mary Greeley Medical Center ICCU, Northcrest, Northcrest Health Center, Northcrest Heartwood House, Northcrest Independent Living, Northridge Village, Story County Medical Center in Nevada, Walgreens and Wal-Mart — with additional deliveries made along the way.
It’s our small way of saying a big “Thank you!” to friends who share their gifts and live out their vocations every day — and especially on a holiday when so many others have the day off.
Here are some pictures. We hope to add more next week too!

The GLC family is filled with friendly, caring people of faith. We’re looking for those same people to help with our worship services this fall!
Volunteers are needed to serve as scripture readers, greeters/ushers who welcome and assist during worship and assistants who help distribute Holy Communion. Each role is important and helps make our services welcoming and meaningful for all.
If you’re looking for a simple way to get involved and make a difference, we hope you’ll consider these opportunities. And if you’re a first-time volunteer, don’t worry! We’ll be happy to answer questions and help you get started.
