Our 6^th annual GLC Loaves & Fishes Reverse Advent Sorting Party was a huge success! Here are the stats:

# of sorters, boxers and tapers: 50+

# of boxes: A LOT!

# of delivery trucks: 2

# of delivery helpers: 6+

# of pizzas consumed: 10

# of people impacted by these efforts: MANY!

Once again, thank you for your compassion, kindness and generosity. Thank you for making an important difference in the lives of our neighbors!

An opportunity to wrap Bliss Cancer patients in warm fleece blankets is coming up at GLC. Willing hearts may come to the Fleece Blanket Making Workshop in the Fellowship Hall on Monday, January 12th any time between 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. No sewing skills are needed, just willing hands to help provide warmth for someone receiving chemotherapy. The shelf of blankets is nearly empty at Mary Greeley, so the need is great. For questions about this, The Joy Project, please contact Cindy Kruckenberg: 515-460-2518.



GLC was tagged a few weeks ago in this Thank You post on the Iowa Waste Exchange's Facebook page. This is even more reason to be part of next Monday's Project Joy workshop!

If you purchased a poinsettia, please feel free to pick it up this week! Please leave the plastic tray and take a bag to wrap it up! And thank you so much for providing beauty to the sanctuary in these Christmas Days.

Our Tuesday Night Bible Study will meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the Shalom room! We will be going through a study written for the Advent season. All are welcome to join us! We love the great conversations that ensue as we dive into different Bible passages.

We will also start a new series "Christ in All of Scripture", where we will take time to discover Jesus on every page of the Bible! Bre will have extra packets of questions outside her office, if you'd like to grab one!

Our Annual Meeting will be called to order at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2026, in the church sanctuary. We will look back on our life and ministry in 2025, celebrate the present moments and look ahead to mission in 2026.

Also, items are being received for the 2025 GLC Annual Report. When the document is ready, we will send it via email and also have printed copies available at the church.

+ blessing for Jones Terrones. Jones celebrated his first communion this past Sunday.

+ comfort for the family and friends of Bjorg Dubois. Bjorg, the sister-in-law of Kris Kemp, passed away on December 21. A funeral service was last week in Neosho, MO.

+ comfort for the family and friends of Evelyn Halverson. Evelyn, the mother of Sharon Ehler, passed away on December 23. A funeral service was held last Friday in Decorah.

+ healing for Larry Bremer. Larry has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He began chemotherapy yesterday.

+ healing for Teri Gallahan. Teri has been struggling with respiratory issues and extreme fatigue.

+ healing for Nancy Rabe. Nancy had hip replacement surgery yesterday.

+ healing for Amy Romsey. Amy, the daughter-in-law of Sharon Romsey, is being treated for cancer and has needed hospital care from time to time.

+ healing for Anne Walden. Anne is recuperating at the Northcrest Health Center following an appendectomy.
