Thank you all who participated in "Not Your Average Joe" program and were shopping on the Boon Supply website. Together we raised $384 with NYAJ and $284 with Boon Supply !
Ice Cream
Ice Cream Social is May 3rd!

We are busy planning this year's Ice Cream Social and have exciting news to share and links below for you to have an opportunity to help!

  • Do not forget to send the flyer and money back as soon as possible and wristbands will be sent back to you the week of April 29th! 
  • We are excited to partner with the Silver Unicorn Bookstore this year who will have a book fair during the Ice Cream Social with books for kids and adults to purchase. 20% of sales will be given to the PTO.

Staff Appreciation Week, May 6 th  – May 10 th

Staff appreciation is coming up soon.  It is a great opportunity to thank our teachers and staff for all that they do. Keep an eye on “This Week @ Gates” and the Paul P. Gates School Parent Connection Facebook page, and the PTO website in the coming weeks, for more information on our plans and signups.
Please note that each day has an individual signup for supplies and help.  Make sure to check them all out if you think you can donate more than one item.

MONDAY: Breakfast
On Monday, May 6 th  we would like to start Staff Appreciation Week off right with breakfast for the staff.  Click on the link below to donate food and supplies.  All items should be dropped off in the Teacher’s Lounge by 7:30am so that we can set up the breakfast by 8am.  
 
TUESDAY: Convenience Store
On Tuesday, May 7 th  we would like to set up a “convenience store” so that teachers can restock supplies, rainy-day games and snacks in their classrooms.  All supplies should be new.  Any snacks should be packages of individually packaged snacks.  Items can be dropped off in the school office beginning April 29 th  and must be dropped off by 7:30am on May 7 th .  To make it easier, the signup includes a link to an Amazon wishlist.  Items can be shipped directly to the school!
                                            
WEDNESDAY: Students Show Their Appreciation and Raffle
When we asked the staff what they liked most they answered the pictures and notes from students.  Have your child bring in a picture or note, this day, telling a member of the staff how much they appreciate them. Your child doesn’t want to write a note – that’s OK.  Have them wear their teacher’s favorite color.  Wednesday we will also raffle prizes that have been donated.  Want to donate something but have no ideas?  Check out the sign up below. Please contact Jennifer Smith about pick up of raffle items. Our goal is to have a raffle item for every member of the staff.

THURSDAY: PTO Shows Their Appreciation (June 13th)
The PTO will be catering lunch for the staff during building-bassed learning on June 13th.  No donations needed.
Can you volunteer to help with setup or clean up?  Contact Jennifer Smith directly.
 
FRIDAY: Something Sweet to End the Week
Who doesn’t enjoy a good cup of coffee, cookies or treats?  If you would like to make or purchase something for the staff, please consider signing up below.  Items should be brought to the Teacher’s Lounge by 8am on Friday.
All students, families, teachers and staff are invited to the annual Celebrate the Arts Evening. 

5:30 to 7:30  Visit the Student Art Gallery in the gym.

5:30 to 7:00  Make a special piece of art with your family in the Family Art Making Studio. 

6:30 to 7:30  Gates School Chorus and The Singing Monkees   will be performing in the Gates Cafeteria.

We hope you can all attend this amazing evening of Art and Music.

MSBA School Building Update

Check out the newest presentation from 4/10/19 to view the  Arrowstreet/Skanska Presentation  as well as the  Floor plans as of 4-10-19    In this presentation you will see that the first floor includes the Preschool, café, and gyms. The second floor is designated to the Gates School and the third floor is the location of the Douglas School. Additional information regarding the building project can be found on the district website

Box Tops for Education
The Box Tops for Education program is an easy way to earn cash for Gates school. Simply clip Box Tops on hundreds of products at your local grocery store and place them in the collection box outside of the Gates school office. For each one, Gates receives 10 cents and it really adds up.
"This Week at Gates" is distributed at the beginning of each week. If you have a submission you'd like to have included in the weekly email, please be sure to email it to the Gates PTO by noon on Wednesday.
